I echo the above.

Don't be fooled by his questions, he isn't really interested in anything you have to say.

I see. I wasn't sure if he was curious and didn't know what the hell he was talking about or if he was just being an asshole on purpose.

I do make excuses for the curious but ignorant

Well speaking as a touch-type person, firstly I agree that it can make people feel awkward, although how much more awkward is a relationship with someone (eg friendship) if mere touching is beyond boundaries?

Unwanted touching is out-of-bounds. Personally, I have different boundaries for different people depending on whether they're intimate friends, just friends, acquaintances, or strangers.

Well friends are different, I don't mind friends coming up and touching me because they're my friends and I know who it is. My friends also usually greet me before just grabbing onto me. Though not always *rolls eyes*.

maybe the answer lies in a little from column a, and a little from column b.

Kinda like how your OP reads. I sure it gets old to have well meaning people fuss over you especially if you are a proud person. so there is a legitmate reason to question there. But, to assume that all Christians want to make mud from spit and rub it in your eyes is a bit asshole-ish in of itself.

ROFLOL

years and years of practice.

plus it helps if one does not take himself too seriously. Meaning if one is not concerned in presenting a projected a given image, then that person is free to say and do what a given situation will allow. Cool Shades

In this place we are all the same. we are little more than thoughts, ideas, words on a page. Our minds are being repersented here. So, with that in mind what is more asshole-ish? treating someone with a PHYSICAL disablity differently/with kit gloves? or treating them like you treat everyone else?

There is nothing wrong with Jesus fish's mind, just his or her eyes. To exclude this person from the normal abuse that goes on here is wrong whether you or J/F (Jesus Fish) likes it or not. Unlike the rest of you I will not treat anyone differently based on their physical attributes. if they maintain relitivly the same level of mental acuity, everyone is treated in the same way. (it is based on their own approach/questions.) If Jesus Fish want's special treatment all he/she need do is ask or rather answer the question I asked about her/his wanting to be treated the same or different.

RE: Sigh
I once touched a blind person without prior consent or warning.
We were on a bus, he was standing and walking towards the door, trying to grab one of the handle bars available for people to hold on to. He was missing it by some 2 or 3 cm... after his 2nd or 3rd failed attempt, I just grabbed his hand and laid it on the bar. He said thank you and I said don't mention it. and he went on his merry way.
Now that you say you don't like people touching you... I think I may have been a bit rash there... :-?
