and just to verify, who are the people that discovered this? and how does this relate to a god in any way?
Copernicus, Galileo, and Albert Eintsein. It relates to the comments people have made on this thread saying that theists are stupid and mindless. One commentor said we still believe that the earth is flat. That's all absurd. I see a bunch of atheists making silly comments and then slapping each other on the back. By the way since you're a satanist, is there any proof for the existence of Satan?

as far as i know, NONE of those guys believed in god, they had their own idea of what a god is to them personally. And im sorry that us atheists have our own sense of humor when it comes to religion, but thats just us. and about the satan thing, i relate to the modern form of satanism which is atheistic. so we believe that satan is an archetype not an actual being. so i take it that you are christian and believe in god and that would also include satan, so on my standing i would redirect the question towards you.

it isn't in our nature to think of a God, it is in our nature to seek answers and the concept of God is most influenced in this world.

Yes, I do believe that satan exists. What is that that distinguishes a satanist from any other attheists? I assume that when you say that satan is archetype that means that you model yourself after satan.

"distinguishes a satanist from any other attheists" - is the belief system, atheistic satanism is derived from the satanic bible by Anton Szandor LaVey. and other forms of satanism do believe in satan however... it is not the same satan of the bible. that is a mistake that many theists conclude about satanism.
and yes i do believe we are models of the archetype satan, as in liars, grief, deceit etc... but also in my own point of view, my idea of "god" is simply knowing the good or what is better.
So what evidence do you have that god and satan exist?

I believe the writers of the new testament who walked with Jesus or who had close relationships with those who did. It's the testament of many of those who were slain because of their faith in him. I wouldn't do that if I was just perpetuating a fraud. Jesus also testified to the authenticity of the old testament. All those things you say couldn't have happened are possible if God is who I bellieve he is. Lastly, but most importantly, my life experiences have reinforced my beliefs. I believe there is more to the cosmos than what science can observe. That doesn't mean I reject science, I just don't think that's all there is to know.

well firstly, the bible was written hundreds of years after jesus's death, and the people who wrote it never saw jesus, never walked with jesus or had any interaction with him at all. so "walked with Jesus or who had close relationships" is not right according to what i know about the bible. Also, do you believe something to be true, based only if it is written down? with no physical evidence?
"All those things you say couldn't have happened are possible if God is who I bellieve he is." - How do you know it was god?
" I just don't think that's all there is to know." - yes! science doesnt have all the answers but, just because a book talks about something that no other book talks about, that doesnt make it true.

All of the old testament was written before Jesus. Peter and John were apostles who accompanied Jesus during the last three years of his life. Paul who wrote the majority of the new testament lived from approximately AD 3-62 according to Funk and Wagnalls encyclopedia. That means that the large majority of the new testament was written shortly after his death. I respect that atheists don't buy what the bible says. But I'm sure you believe much of what you've read and heard because you trust the source. I'm not just closing my eyes to reality; that's why I'm on this forum. I've learned things about atheism that I had misconceptions about and now also about satanism. Gotta go, but if you have any more comments you want to make I'll be back later.

It should probably be noted that prior to the Enlightenment, the alternative to theism was Master Hans.

Okay, you need to drop this argument entirely: it is one of the most profoundly blinkered, incorrect arguments christianity has ever produced. See, the world you're positing is one where christianity is true, and therefore all the other religions are false. Those religions all have martyrs who died for their faith.
Even in the premise of your argument, you still live in a world in which people die for their misplaced faith; simply eliminating fraud from the picture doesn't make the claims of those people any stronger.
