And yeah, I guess it's exactly the same as pharmacological terminology.
That is my understanding. Using a "common name" can get you into all sorts of trouble especially in pharmacology.
Funny, I told the Developers that I wanted to plant a Birch in the front "Yard" they thought I was talking about a Beech (Fagus sp) or Alder (Alnus sp) ...both of which are no-nos for Australia close to architecture.
Hopefully this little one will become my Macro-Bonsai and provide some much needed shade for our bedroom
