My opinion is that save the fancy names for fictive charters, but it's really your choice, Quill.
Scruffy said that the only interest he has in naming our kids, is that they should be Finnish and simple names. I've come up with
Taina Tellervo
Maire Marika
Aino Alisa
Saija Sanelma
for girls and
Tenho Henrik
Tuukka Juhani
Teuvo Einar
for boys.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

BQ, I love the freedom to name kids whatever you want to. But just beware, other kids aren't going to be as appreciative of your creativity. I'm not proud of it but I was kind of a dick in high school. Me and my friends probably would have tormented your kid if he had any of those names. Obviously I've grown out of that phase, but there are plenty of high school douchebags waiting in the wings to replace the ones that graduate. Unless you're planning to home school.
Just food for thought.

Rain is a frequent Turkish name but only used for girls.
"Yaghmur" or "Yaghmyr".

Not sure, it reminds me of a horse from a Disney movie. I try to stay away from weather and element type names.

Fine you guys I won't name anyone Rain or Cloud. I just figured avoid names like Toprameneesha or Usnavy and everything is roses.

That is an invalid reason IMO. Heh, I've heard people that are against adoption by gay couples raise the same question. I have an odd name, and the bullies tried to pick on me because of it. Didn't care, honestly.

Yea different kids will handle it with varying degrees of success. I'm not saying it's a good reason. It's just something I have experience with.

Sapphire is a stripper stage name and consequently must be immediately removed from consideration.

I have 2 first names that don't jive too well together, and two last names, one from my mother's side, another from my father's side... that's the norm around here.
From my mother's side, the last name is equal to a common girl's first name.... so you can imagine what happened whenever the other boys found out I had a girl's name... -.-'
And the last name itself... you just need to remove one letter... mind you, it's an 8 letter name... just remove one letter and you're left with a profane word... brilliant!... and it's one of the most common last names in this country!
Then you have bullying... I grew up in the 80's~90's in Portugal and bullying was nowhere to be found.. sure I got mocked sporadically because of my name, but it happened once a year or so... so it didn't matter and the other kids quickly forgot about it...
nowadays... kids seem to remember the cruel things easily.... and forget maths with even more ease.
It's better not to give them any ammo.
Give normal, blend-in names, like Joe, John, Heather, Jane, Peter, Laura, Kim, etc...., but make it a unique combination of first (middle) and last names.
