The lack if evidence

There is more physical and testable evidence for many of the truths of Christianity, than many things that are almost universally believed. The resurrection of Christ, example was seen by hundreds of people. What keeps you from believing that?

Like what?

All accounts of the life of Jesus were written decades after the event. THere are NO contemporary accounts whatsoever.

One, there is no historical accuracy surrounding that event.

Two, we have no proof that those eye witness accounts are even accurate.

Where's your evidence that hundreds of people saw Christ do anything?

Oh, it's the book that wants you to believe that Christ was god? Sounds like circular reasoning to me.

As it stands, I suspected there were no gods, so I did my research looking for proof of gods, reasons there might be gods, reasons people might invent gods, why people would want to believe in gods if they didn't exist, etc., so I don't "believe" there are no gods, I "know" there are no gods as much as I "know" I am writing this crap to you. And that's leaving space there for the possibility that I might be dreaming right now, or similar mad reasons I might not actually be writing this. Too small to count for anything.

I think we all "do belief" to a certain extent. The theory of evolution is just that, a theory. It like most of Christianity is believed through faith.

You clearly never paid any attention in science class.

Scientific theory.

Ah shit, now you done goofed. Angry

Here's what a scientific theory means, as opposed to a colloquial one. So you can stow that "just a theory" crap right now. Read a damn book.

And here's a list of evolution events that we can see happening. Do you enjoy being ill informed about everything?

I knew it would come down to this: Christian Strawmen 101: Evolution is just a theory.

No, it's a scientific fact.

Moving on.

It is circular reasoning, and I'm okay with that. I believe the Bible to be true, because I believe God to be true. I think we all believe in a lot of things without testable evidence. I believe that Plato existed even though the only evidence I have is secondary and isn't testable at all. We all believe and have faith in certain things that can't be tested.

If god existed and "revealed" himself (herself?) to everybody belief would be unnecessary ...

I would KNOW he exists, duh Tongue

Still cannot fathom why would I worship, bow, get on my knees, pray and do all that fancy theistic crap, what would be a purpose of that ?

To sell my soul for a promise of eternal life ?

Nah, not me, buddy, I do not bow to anybody or anything, not ever, no matter how sweet reward for it is Wink
