Oh hell no! I remember going on camp back in high school. We slept in a hut that prevented any light from coming in. It was total pitch black. Couldn't see my hand in front of my face not to mention anything at all. I didn't enjoy that nights rest because I had to keep checking if I was alive.

I hiked the Mt. St. Helens lava tubes in high school and it was incredible to discover just how dark absolute darkness was. My friend and I would turn off our flashlights and there was just... nothing... it was wild!

The scariest thing I've ever read was a scene in a book that took place entirely in the dark - freaky!!
