Who said I was an American? I seriously doubt you have the intellectual capacity to fill two cans with water

He does seem to be terrible at identifying the Americans on an international forum which, if I'm not mistaken, is hosted in the UK.

Matthew 7:1-3. And you call yourself a Christian.

Yeah, it's not them acting too much like Jesus that usually gets my goat.

Oh so he is a worthless Christian. He reminds me of my step mother then, she to is a worthless person.
The lying, bickering and then the stupidity. Oh this is great.

'Worthless' is pretty harsh, though I don't blame you after he cast aspersions on your intellect. I'm starting to think he's 'cruising for a bruising', mod-wise.

Sorry, I just like saying this stuff to annoy people. I personally thrive off of people's frustration. I am used to doing this with my step mother.

I am not amused easily and am not interested in winning fights I am interested in bugging the crap out of people. What will happen is that the person will get frustrated and become an armchair warrior and began posting back and I will just keep making snappy comments.

I like to call myself an emotional sadist Big Grin. Very fitting

You might want to watch that around here. If that's your goal, you're probably in the wrong forum.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

RE: Religious Tolerance
I respect peoples right to believe and practice their religion so long as:

1. It doesn't infringe on the law
2. It doesn't infringe on my personal space or my right not to believe in their given god(s) (if someone asked if I'd heard the good news and I said not interested, with them saying ok no worries, that's fine. Start speaking at me instead of to me though and that's crossing the line).
3. It doesn't attempt to gain special privileges from government (tax exemptions) or exemptions from ratified legislation (eg. Exemptions on slaughter practices for halal and kosher meat).

If any of the above 3 Are infringed upon I take an issue. Of course, side those rules I can disagree and argue against practices/beliefs, as can anyone. But beliefs, as a rule of thumb, don't 'deserve' anything except to be questioned, called out and debated. No beliefs are sacrosanct, least of all religious beliefs that claim to hold spiritual, everlasting 'facts' about people.

I am not fond of this whole "harsh word" thing. A person's worth is easily measurable, if you cannot employ common sense and reasoning you are in all terms worthless. Many Christians are of great worth throughout history. As are Muslims who contributed much to Mathematics and Jurisprudence.

If you cease to use reasoning or behavior that produces beneficial results then you are "without worth" int he simplest sense of the term.

It may be harsh to you but I see no reason to pretend to tolerate particular behavior.

I never said that is my goal Big Grin. That is just how I deal with those that troll or are intentionally behaving stupid.
I really don't get it though. If people want to troll you always have Yahoo Answers, that is what it is for. Using forums just seems pointless for such activities. Yahoo took the precious time to invest in a site for trolls so why not use it.

I completely disagree and I find this type of thinking to be disturbing and cruel.

Are you always an asshat, or is it just that time of the month for you right now?

Only to those who are extreme asshats. I am quite nice to 99% of people, even those who others don't always like. It's the small percentage that everyone hates universally that I usually don't get along with...seeing as how I tolerate some of the worst people others can't stop griping about, consider that well....

Many of the posters on this site end up being no better than the Fundies they gripe about with their lack of humanity towards others....it's pathetic how shallow some of you are...I don't agree with the beliefs of most religious people, but I respect their right to worship as they do because I am a human being. I have even been in religious ceremonies for a religion I don't belong to so I could respect their beliefs. They knew I was not a member of their religion, but even so, they asked me to take part in the ceremony and I agreed because I am a human being.

I am truly ashamed there are atheists that act the way you guys do....I am glad I have never met one of you in person....I would lose faith in humanity if that were to happen.

Mod hat on.

Please familiarize yourself with the rules.

the rules Wrote:No Trolling
Trolling is where a person makes a deliberately provocative posting with the aim of inciting an angry response, and is not allowed. As discussions can at times get heated, not all provocative posts will get classed as trolling. However, if a member is found to be making multiple such posts, or appear to only be using the forum to provoke people, they will be in violation of this rule.

Consider this an unofficial warning.

Considering I was out of town over the weekend when you made this post and the PM you sent me, consider yourself a liar. And it's so easy to prove with your mod abilities to boot.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Yeah, you're not really likely to provoke a deist sort of god into showing its hand just because you stopped caring.

Certainly you must see the irony in you saying this in a thread you opened calling for tolerance. Also ironic, given the history of the U.S. as a bastion for religious tolerance, is your consistent hatred for all things American being on display in this thread.

Not everyone here treats you poorly so turn off your persecution complex.

As far as religious tolerance goes, I think you need to realize a few thinigs. Without exception, I think everyone here recognizes and respects the right of everyone to believe what they wish; something you fealt the need to pat yourself on the back for. This does not automatically translate into respect of any particular belief or practice nor does it require my participation or consent. Respect for specifics, like everything else in life, will be judged on its merits. For example, I respect the right of people of like mind to congregate once a week to simultaneously whisper sweet nothings into oblivion, but I don't have to respect the act nor am I compelled to go through the motions.

You want to see religious tolerance on display? Go read Christian comments on news stories that talk about installing foot washing stations in public spaces. It's also not hard to find examples of Christians issuing death threats (fatwa for one?) anytime they disagree with someone else. There can also be no respect given for the ridiculous; i.e., claiming that natural disasters are due to tolerating homosexuals.

If you don't want your beliefs to be ridiculed, don't have ridiculous beliefs. I will attempt to illustrate my point. I disagree with someone's belief in God, but don't necessarily believe the position to be ridiculous. I can also leave room for using stories of the Bible as tools for moral instruction, even the parts that can be pointed to as examples of what not to do. Those that believe the Bible to be the infallible word of God are free to do so, but these potentially dangerous idiots are fully deserving of any ridicule sent their direction.
