the Rules Wrote:Reporting Posts
It is not appropriate to make a public thread to complain about another user.
If you feel a user has violated the rules, the best thing to do is to report the post in which they have done so. Doing so brings the matter to the attention of the moderators/admins almost immediately and action, if deemed necessary, is taken soon after.
Another method of dealing with complaints is to PM a moderator/admin. While it is still private and acceptable, the report system is better since it makes every moderator/admin aware and permits a quicker response time if the person you PM is not online.
In either case, it's important that these matters be dealt with privately and no longer in public threads. If you create a public thread complaining about another member, it will be removed.
In some cases, staff will make actions public in the Staff Log. This only includes banning and the reason for banning. Staff action taken against existing members will not be logged in that thread.

I would like to post something new, but everything I was going to say has already been said:
- It's sexual assault
- One needs to draw a line between "harmless prank" and "criminal activity"
- It isn't funny
- Just because the perpetrators aren't adults doesn't mean they should get off with a slap on the wrist

I for one, never did any such thing. To this day, I still cannot understand why people do malicious things like this. Why do some people have insufficient empathy? Was I an early bloomer in terms of gaining empathy, or are low empathy teens simply unapologetic scumbags? (Or... something else? The fact that some grow up into responsible adults suggests that there may be something else to this.)

Okee dokee. No more public talk from me about. . . that stuff.
However, with regard to the rule about complaining about other members, surely that doesn't apply to contexts where the complaint is directly related to the content of the OP? Let me go on record in complaining about Zidneya's attitude toward the sexual harrassment of women-- women should not be considered fodder for the learning experiences of disturbed teens, and that Zidneya does anything but condemn the little fucks unequivocally makes him a prick. Am I good now, or do I have to formally apologize to him for my unjust treatment of him? Do I get to tell him he's a worthless piece of shit if I call it a "prank?"

Okee dokee.
Is it for the public consensus to talk in a thread about sexual assault, where the OP apparently supports a moderate view toward the perpetrators of sexual assault, to say that I think his comments are inappropriate and lacking in philosophical interest or value? I don't really care if Zid gets the ban hammer or not. I do care about whether he pisses on my favorite forum section with the immature antics of a 14 year-old misogynist prick.
It's been reported for you. If you care so much, you should use the report button. It's not like it's hard, and we rely on other members to report... the mods here are volunteers, after all.

I wonder how Zid would feel if 10 years down the road a school mate of one of his kids found a video on on the net where some girls posted a video of him being "sharked."
Or does is humiliation only fun and games when you do it to women?

Part of being young is making mistakes.

I am more tolerable to teens than to adults.
I think every teenager goes through their anger. People who are like, 'No, I had a perfect adolescence,' I never made a mistake, I never committed a prank, makes me wonder how that is possible.
Shailene Woodley
Yes, people make mistakes, especially as kids.
This isn't a mistake. This is deliberately assaulting a woman in the street with the intention of humiliating her for their own amusement and putting it on the net.
See the magic word here? "Assault".
You can't tell me this is a mistake. And it's certainly not a prank.
Edit: I wonder if it would be so "funny" if it was women doing it to men?

List of pranks:
-date rape (haha she was unconscious the whole time what a funny video)
-murder (that old lady didn't even see it coming lolz)
-pedophilia (heehee that little girl's eyes almost popped out when he told her what he wanted her to do)
-sharking
If anyone, a teen included, does any of these "pranks," my interest in his personal development ceases instantly. The overall public good to be gained by getting this dysfunctional person off the streets is waayyyyy more important than extending an olive branch of peace and understanding just because you want to say this kid's "discovering himself."

Just for the record, I'm against the other type of sharking, too.

Yeah, that's probably the weirdest part of where this conversation has gone, to me: I never did anything like this as a kid, and neither did any of my friends. The absolute worst we got up to was skipping the last class of the day once or twice a week to play videogames or catch a movie. Consequently, I just don't understand this need to cause aggravation that some people seem to have; why is this appealing?
