Deuteronomy is brimming with sanctioned rape.

Eve when Yahweh says rape is punishable, it's because someone damaged another man's property. Not because someone violated another person. You can rape a virgin and pay what amounts to a marriage fee. You can rape someone if you kill everyone who knows and cares about her first, and kidnap her as part of your spoils of war. Just don't rape another man's fiance or wife. And if you're the woman, you'd best not let yourself be cowed into silence and submission, or else you get stoned along with him.

That's a surefire way to make a bad situation worse. Someone puts a knife to your throat. If you scream, he may kill you. If you don't, the townspeople will definitely kill you.

And if you want an exclusively evolutionary argument why rape is wrong, I can give you that too: the mother of your child is more likely to allow it to develop and survive to childbirth, plus nurture it in an environment that better equips it to survive in the world, if the child was conceived as a part of a consensual, loving relationship. It's the reason why parent couples are so common in our evolved child rearing strategy.

Of course, morality and evolution aren't the same thing; "is" does not imply "ought," after all. But the point is that even playing the stupid little game you want to play, you're still on the losing side, DIManiac.
