Actually, the problem is that the GOP has gone insane. You can't have political discourse with people who live in an alternate reality. You can't have compromise with people who are trying to sabotage the system.
The efforts on the left should not be to try to reason with people like Heywood and ATheist. They are gone, completely unreachable. You may as well try to reason with a schizophrenic.
Our efforts in our political discourse should be to go after the fake-centrists that dominate our media and their "both sides do it" narrative. This is the big lie that gives cover to Rush Limbaugh and his ilk. Without the big lie, Republicans would be held accountable for all their abuse, incompetence and dishonesty.
The left is trying to sabotage the system too. When Bush tried to pass immigration reform Obama pledged his support and then voted for amendments he knew would poison the bill. Obama threatened to veto budget resolutions and tank this country if he didn't get his way. Reid refused to take up bills passed by the House. Every criticism you can say about the right, applies equally to the left.
You're absolutely delusional if you think its just the rightwingers.

I don't know if you are being stupid or just dishonest, Woodie.

Quote:The bill's sole sponsor in the Senate was Majority Leader Harry Reid, though it was crafted in large part as a result of efforts by Senators Kennedy, McCain and Kyl, along with Senator Lindsey Graham, and input from President George W. Bush, who strongly supported the bill. For that reason it was referred to in the press by various combinations of these five men's names, most commonly "Kennedy-Kyl". A larger group of senators was involved in creating the bill, sometimes referred to as the 'Gang of 12'.[1] This group included, in addition to the aforementioned senators, Senators Dianne Feinstein, Mel Martinez, Ken Salazar and Arlen Specter. Senators Jim DeMint, Jeff Sessions, and David Vitter led the opposition to the bill.
There is a "R" after the name of each one of those fucks.

When you buy blindly into any narrative that gets you to ignore that we are the same species, you will end up in a bubble and a bunker no matter if that marketing is done for national, political, religious or business reasons.
Our planet does not care, nor has the capability of caring who wins and who loses. Humans can fight over resources all we want, but time defeats both winner or loser. We can only face this to extend the ride of our species.

You are a disingenuous ignorant pile of shit. Ready for some facts? Of course not, but here they are anyway:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/L?...~bdaliXV:1[1-351](Amendments_For_S.1348)&./temp/~bdzdQa
1. Obama submitted three amendments. One was considered, which was not agreed to.
2. Cornyn (just as a means of comparison) submitted 26. Four were considered and 3 agreed to. 14% of the agreed to amendments.
3. Agreed to amendments: 7 by vote, 4 by voice vote, 10 by unanimous consent.
4. Summary of the 'by vote' amendments Obama voted for:
- Limit non-immigrant entrance to 200,000/year
- American competitiveness scholarship
- No EIC tax credit for immigrants (Cornyn also yea)
- Mandatory disclosure rules (Cornyn also yea)
Hardly poisoning the well. Obama voted for the bill, Cornyn didn't.
Here's a breakdown of the Nay votes on the entire bill: D - 15, R - 37, & Sanders.
Facts are a bitch.

I don't own cowboy hat, I live in a house but also have an RV. I have never owned a gun until my father died and I inherited his father's shot gun. I don't shit in a bucket or smoke cigars. I don't have a 4 wheeler, but I do have a tractor to plow my driveway in the winter and do other chores on my property(tractors are fricken awesome by the way if you own land).
