Quick train question...(puzzle)
December 12, 2014 at 7:07 pm
... so you board a train, a really good train, you can do just about anything on this train... great journey available. But, a few minutes in, the guard announces on the PA, that the train will not be stopping, and the doors are locked forever, and unfortunately, it's heading towards a disaster. We don't know when, but it will happen and be catastrophic, no survivors guaranteed.
What is your reaction?
PS if you're about to post a reply and your response is going to be negative, improper, average, odd, obtuse, irrational, an argument, might change the focus, going off at a tangent or just mean ... go and find a maths forum to post on instead, they'll love you !!

Make a cheesy joke about this being the "end of the line"
I din't think there would be anything else to but try to prevent the disaster.

So there is no possible way of avoiding this.
If so I'd just wait.

Why is there a guard?
What kind of power plant does this train have? Can I shut off a fuel supply line or open a steam release valve or stop shoveling coal?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
