Sometimes it's easier that others. But seeing the happy family that takes them in makes it a lot easier. I've only had Jack for two days, and we have had a rough start. He doesn't seem to understand who the alpha is.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Very good looking pups, SC. Buffy's a Poodle / Lhasa Apso mix. A lot of people has asked if she's a Bichon though. She's a hefty 25 pounder and she knows how to get her own way!

Ha! She'll sound the alarm first and then roll over for a belly rub. But she'll be your best friend for a treat!
Then show you were the good silver is hidden for second treat?

Yeah seriously. I've done a kind of shelter thing for Hamsters, and even there I'd have a hard time giving them away. With a dog, almost unimaginable unless I really feel that the new home is wonderful.

So I got a new camera during the Black Friday online sales. It's a Nikon instead of a Canon, so I'm still getting used to it. Today was the first day I was able to go out during the day when it wasn't raining and try to ACTUALLY use it.

The next to the last photo in this flickr gallery I put together reminds me of the that desiccated leaf photo of yours, Summer.

On flickr you can create galleries of other people's photos who let you do so. I used to admin a group I started there called Fabulous Foliage. That exposed me to a lot of great fall/winter foliage. So I put this gallery together to highlight the best such foliage that included gold leaves. If you select light box in the upper right hand corner of the page it'll present the 17 photos as a slide show. Otherwise you can just scan through them in smaller format.
