Why do you go to a live concert featuring something you don't enjoy in the first place?

I hate country, pop, and just about anything mainstream. Most music made for the masses is so bland and derivative that it hurts.
I also really hate all the bands rexbecca listed(Creed and Nickelback especially) except for cage the elephant. I kind of like those guys.

Have you heard Del tha Funkee Homosapien? He's my favorite. Here he is with Dinosaur Jr.

I hate any music, played in public by a moron on a damn 1-inch phone speaker. I wish people who don't use headphones die horrible deaths...

Props to her for that, but I still want to stick hot knives in my ears when I hear it
Modern hip hop. I actually like and listen to 90s and 80s hip hop, but this

Is just fucking dumb
To me Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown aren't even Hip-Hop. They're commercialised pop music with an urban theme.
Some Nicki I love though, I find her very hit and miss. She'll do an amazing song (Moment 4 Life, Pound The Alarm, Your Love) and then go on to do Anaconda and Stupid Hoe. I don't understand her inconsistency.
I can't stand any kind of scream-y music - metal, screamo, death metal, whatever you wanna call it. It makes my ears bleed, it sounds horrible. My brother loves it, for reasons beyond my comprehension. Some softer rock is ok but as soon as they start screaming I'm turning it off.

What do you mean, whatever you wanna call it? Those are completely different genres and communities.

Well, first, I've found that I sometimes end up liking a band I previously didn't after seeing them live (and, sometimes, vice-versa), but I saw fun. at a music festival while waiting for... I think it was Fitz and the Tantrums, whom I love
