Good morning. Seen the news? Ways to continue to discriminate are already popping up. First one I saw was in TX, didn't see that one coming (snark, hilk, hilk). Having the gov clerks just say no when asking for an application. How inventive will they get? Sorry, ran out of forms. Sorry, lost the request please try again. Sorry, can only apply on Feb 29th. Sorry, outsourced this function to the redneck church down street practicing religious freedom, will have to take it up with them.

I can't imagine there's no legal recourse to enforce the ruling, however. It's a temporary measure, yet another conservative christian right tantrum that'll lead to them losing, and whining about how persecuted they are, that they aren't allowed to not follow the law.

Foot-dragging, to be sure. But it won't last long. The recalcitrants will be weeded out by lawyers and attrition.

You're right. I've voiced my opinion, and even though I strongly disagree and I believe the country is going down the tubes, Ill accept the decision of the supreme court on this one. I have shorts on, but they are big boy shorts.

You'd figure that the fundies would be happy about this, as it would be one more sign that THE END IS NEAR. Where is their faith?

Out of curiosity, does this measure automatically allow adoption or do States need to create laws to allow adoption as well? Because from what I recall in most of Europe marriage was always legalised first and adoption was usually some years later because both are separate issues and legally you can allow people to marry and still deny them the right to adopt

Yes, but law suits take time and money, only delaying the inevitable but still a pain in the ass. Some will not want to go through the experience (nor should they have to).
