Lying cunt.
You know, I know better than to feed the trolls, but oh well. Your description as "anti-theist" seems to be more personally charged than normal, since it seems your current purpose is name-call on my threads. Perhaps you have a sense of humor to which I am not used, your last post on my life sci thread would suggest that. Either way, you've assumed or implied that I am a liar, lazy (life sci), and/or a woman. A lot of assume for someone that belongs to a community that prides itself on logic and fact

I think he's referring to your misuse of the word "belies", which means, "shows the truth about", rather than "is located in", which would appear to be the contextual meaning. Your own word choice insinuated dishonesty, and I'm betting he's taking the piss and nothing more.

Oh yeah, I did make a mistake there! That's what I get for writing immediately after work! Haha. Thanks for pointing that out. But I believe there is some more personal concern, since he is trolling all of my posts without any real provocation.

Welcome. You remind me of my anthropology professor who bashed religion when we looked at it historically, but still said he was Catholic.

Welcome, from another new user.
Keep in mind that atheists who have been on the net a while have a lot of negative experiences with theists. Atheists who are new to the net are frequently shocked and somewhat traumatized by some theists' bad behavior.
For better or worse, until we get to know you, all we have are stereotypes justified by long experience. Some are less inclined to charity than others. If the above bothers you, well, it's the world that religion has constructed, and this is our tiny little corner of it.
The situations are of course not identical, but there are points of similarity with a white guy walking into a family of black people (as I have recently done). If you don't want to piss off everyone in the room, you have to bend over backwards to check your privilege, and you'll piss off some people in the room no matter what you do.

@Bum: The introduction section is here so that we get to know one another instead of stereotyping individuals. Just because someone has had bad experiences in the past doesn't give them the right to just bash at someone unprovoked.

Noted. I'm not trying to stereotype AC, nor am I trying to justify those who have responded as if the stereotype were the truth.
I'm telling him (given some of the comments in the thread and past history) what I think he should expect in general, and how I think he can have the best experience here.
I think it's important for a person with a particular privilege coming into a community defined by those without that privilege to understand what's going on.

True, however I feel it is more important to criticize our own behaviours as an individual as well as the community before we try to justify the same or offer advice to the newcomers regarding it.
