Were you a high GPA student?

I was always the runner-up for scholarships.
"Thanks for applying, but we thought this other person was better than you. If, however, they decide to not take our money then you will be the first loser to get a crack at it. Again, thank you so much for allow us to passive-aggressively shit all over your dreams of an affordable education. Try again next year!"

No, for that you need to take a degree in philosophy. And no, there is no requirement for the major which requires you to identify the hamburger key of a cash register. (Not that it wouldn't help though.)
I had a 3.6 in high school and just barely a 3.0 in nursing school. Anything below a 3.0 in my school's nursing program would have gotten me kicked out, so it was rough.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I was. Then there was college...

I got nearly straight A's until I was 13 or so, but I graduated high school with something around a 2.3 GPA. It was a rough time for me, but the fact that I graduated at all while missing so much school shows that the school had some compassion towards my issues.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I do not wish to discuss my school drug habit on the open forum. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???" |
