I've been reliving my glory days with Halo: CE on Halo: MCC. I'm obsessed all over again. I've been cramming all the spawn and random spawn location on every map into my skull, and using a timer for the power-up/weapon spawns. I refused to do it when I was younger because I thought of it as cheating and required little skill, but now I know that it just adds so many more levels to strategy and tactics. Also, I realize now why and how the Ogre twins and D2A destroyed my squad and I in the last tourney I played in. It's pretty funny now, because I destroy kids who aren't in-the-know in the same manner.

I didn't start playing Halo til Reach came out, just never thought I'd enjoy it until a friend forced me into it, but after I got warmed up I devastated. xD 

I remember a particular match where I kept getting my mitts on the sword and a shotgun and only died once. I was so close to getting the flawless medal when someone got lucky with a sticky grenade.

I liked Reach a lot. There was an attempt to bring it back to the Halo 1 days. The campaign story was pretty damn epic. There were a lot of big wow moments when playing through the first time: the space mission where you fly that ship (forget the name of the ship), the ending where you're the last person alive on Reach, but my favorite part was always the first time you meet an invisible Elite who kidnaps that girl and that funky guitar rig kicks in. Oh and tandem armor locking with a team mate.

I think my favorite mission was the stealth one with Catherine(?), can't really recall if it was her or the other bloke. Anyway, it was a blast sneaking about and sniping with the DMR.

I remember getting really good at Reach. It was the first Halo game I tried playing through on Legendary, and I did get all the way to the end, so that's something. Loading up the horde mode and a podcast was a strangely relaxing thing to do.

My daughter and I rock the horde mode even today. I don't remember the level names, but there's one with a covenant symbol on the door that she thought was a piece of cheese when she was younger. She would say "Hurry dad, lets hide in the cheese." It went from the cheese being that room- the cheese being any defendable room- the cheese being that game type- to the cheese being Halo: Reach. "Dad wanna play the cheese?" Haha

Anyhow, I urge you both to get knee deep in Halo: CE. The gameplay is so deep and damn near perfect. Don't know why they ever messed with a good thing. I recently learned that the Halo:CE community have been making new halo maps.

I do that frequently as well, Esq. Play a game where I'm not too involved with dialogue and turn on some podcast or youtube channel. My wife can't stand it because she can't multi-task very well. xD

I'll have to check out CE, I've been meaning to but got distracted with Dragon Ball: Xenoverse and The Witcher 3 for the longest time.

When Fallout 4 comes out I might disappear for months at a time.
