A Serious Proposal

I trust the Staff are no fools. It is also a good idea if Randy is only allowed to post in such forum. It is only fair to have free speech reduced upon the restrictions.

It would make everyone happy.

RE: A Serious Proposal
Randy, I would seriously suggest that if the environment here is not to your liking, that you either go some place where it is, or create your own.

We aren't going to fragment the subforums further and add additional layers of rules to satisify your preferences - and frankly, I'm not the least bit interested in discussing the matter further, either. We certainly aren't going to be creating zones where speech is restricted any more than it is in the open forum because doing so is inconsistent with the core values of the owner and management of this site.

Randy, did you loose a bet or something? Make some kind of deal with someone of power that forces you to remain at this site? Or is it still just your own delusional thinking that you refuse to address? How many pages of "proposal denied" do you need to see? If it's the delusion, there may never be enough pages.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Quite honestly, I'm tired of talking about Randy, and I'm tired of him baiting us into talking about him.

I think everyone should just refuse to post in any of his bullshit threads until he turns over a new leaf.

Randy, seriously, if this place doesn't work for your style, then go somewhere else. Are we really back to changing the way the forum works because people won't take you serious? You seem to be incapable of self reflection. Your condescension is so deep that you cannot shake the fact that we are all wrong always and you must fix us before we can get to your level.

Take it somewhere else. I have no intention of having to add extra rules and moderate the 10,000+ reports you'll file any time you feel someone has broken your "Super Serious Forum" rule. Which will be any time someone uses an expletive, is snarky, or uses a tone that makes you briefly retreat behind the wall of cognitive dissonance you've built.

No fucking thanks.

You are one sad pup, Mike. Seriously.

Okay. That pup ain't sad. SteelCurtain is not only super smart (don't recommend you go toe to toe on grades or schools with him) but one of the nicest most even tempered guys I know. Also just plain nice. Really.

Not everyone here is interested in serious discussions/arguments about faith, so the idea of a designated spot for it seems appropriate. That way, those who don't want to see that type of thing can just stay away from that section of the forums.

Bingo!

It's a no-brainer, CL.

But no one in management here can bring themselves to agree to any proposal that I make without losing face.

No biggie.

We can continue in the Christianity forum as before. It's working SO WELL after all. Rolleyes

I don't have a problem with the christianity forum, kudos this post if you also don't. Big Grin tee-hee

I agree with Rocket, and that's where I got the idea for a separate subforum. Not everyone has the temperament or stomach for apologetics, They want to post Westboro Baptist memes and blow off steam about things they see in the news every day. Apologetics seems out of place in that atmosphere.

Okay, I get that. But does that mean that there is NO place for more serious discussion of the subject? [Image: shrug.gif]

A second Christianity subforum would solve the problem having a single forum which is serving two very different purposes inadequately at present.

I notice that no one addressed Rocket's points or my response. Interesting.

Folks, I was honestly just trying to make a suggestion to improve the forum.

It won't happen again.

And everyone elses point is that it wouldn't be an improvement. Nothing more needs to be said.
