I will. Not sure if you will like my answer or not considering your views which I respect, but I will ask you to please do the same. This is my first post as I am new here. You may think I am full of it though. I will do my best to explain. Defining God in a meaningful way to you may not be so easy. I can answer you only if you are willing to listen and be open-minded. God has always existed. We do not understand this concept because we as humans have a beginning and an end. There is also the Trinity which means there is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Our minds don't comprehend this concept either as we just exist in one state and not three. God is the beginning and the end. He is the only One who will never leave or forsake you. We also have an enemy out here, Satan, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan is the reason why bad things happen here on earth and he is the master of deception. God has created us in His Own Image. He sent Jesus to take the punishment of sin. Faith is believing in something though you can't see it nor can science explain it. God is a Being that you have to experience for yourself to know that He exists such as I did. When my mother was dying, He did not save her, but He did let me know that everything was going to be ok. I was afraid to go to sleep one night because of facing my own mortality after my mom died. I did cry for peace and ease of my broken heart. I still could not see God, but I knew that I was not alone. I felt Him wrap His arms around me and there was so much peace. I never felt it like that before. I can't even do it justice by attempting to describe it. Another time I was picked up of the street when I was a child about 12 years old. I kept crying out to God, "Please God no." This was before I had any education on what sex or rape was. This happened on my way to a Gospel Sing at a public place. I was let go by the complete stranger unharmed physically. I called my Sunday School teacher and she took me to the police station. The report was made, but nothing happened to the perverted man who picked me up. After that, I was abandoned by people and the police department. God was the only One who was there for me and delivered me from whatever that perverted man was going to do to me. It had to be God, just had to for me not to have been dead in the dumpster somewhere. My own mom didn't believe me and probably thought I was crazy. If you really want to know who God is, you have to experience Him, yourself. No one can really tell you who God is. I told you who God is to me. As far as why you should care, that is what you have to decide for yourself. The Bible says that He loved you that Jesus died for you and that He knew you even before the world was created. It is up to you whether or not you accept this and have the want to in order to know Him. Just because you believe something doesn't exist, does not mean that it doesn't.

That he's logically impossible (the God that Christians like you believe in, that is).
For example, you believe God is a timeless creator. That's not logically/metaphysically possible. Therefore, your god does not exist.

The burden of proof has always and will always fall on the believer. You make the positive claim, YOU must provide the evidence. I'm not sure why theists can't seem to grasp this concept, no matter how many times it is explained to you.
I can't speak for other theists. I do grab that concept. You are right about the burden of proof has always and always will fall on the believer. Science says you have to provide evidence so therefore we are programmed to think this way. Proving God exists no believer can provide proof and that is where the concept of faith comes in. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Atheists want proof, but doesn't comprehend what faith is. I have also heard of some atheists praying to God when things go so wrong for them while others know what the Bible says, but choose to reject it. There are others who believe in evolution, while others can't believe that there just maybe might be a more powerful force out there besides humans. There are still others who can't explain their position. There are again others who blame God for something that has hurt them so bad such as a death of their newborn, child, etc so they stop believing. There are others who have been hurt by Christians and walk away. There are others who choose to reject all ideas about any deity or power. I get that as a theist if that is what you want to call me. Just curious. If the account of Noah's flood isn't true, then how is it possible that we have found Noah's Ark split up into three pieces? How about the burning bush? We found our way to that. The Muslims will kill you if you try to find it because it is heavily guarded because they are hiding it from the world to find out that the Biblical accounts may be true after all.

Rob asked for a "meaningful" definition of god, what you have given us is a harrowing tale and a lot of vagueness, or the opposite of what was asked for .
Oh hello by the way but you need to try again.
Just because you believe something exists dosen't mean it does.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

For example: Only because the human mind only sees a beginning and a end. We do not have the mental capability to understand eternity. We don't last forever. Just because you think He does not exist, does not mean that He doesn't.

Quote:God has always existed. We do not understand this concept because we as humans have a beginning and an end.
If God is incomprehensible to humans, he has no utility for human.
Quote:There is also the Trinity which means there is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Our minds don't comprehend this concept either as we just exist in one state and not three.
Same answer.
Quote:God is the beginning and the end. He is the only One who will never leave or forsake you. We also have an enemy out here, Satan, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan is the reason why bad things happen here on earth and he is the master of deception.
So, all bad things that happen to human beings are attributable to Satan. But God never forsakes us. Do you see the disconnect, here?
Quote:He sent Jesus to take the punishment of sin.
Substitutive punishment is a nutty idea. If I commit a murder and you go to prison for it, how am I punished?
Quote:Faith is believing in something though you can't see it nor can science explain it.
You call it faith. Better-informed people call it 'wishful thinking'.

You've been misinformed. No one has found Noah's ark, in pieces or in any other condition.

Well, the plant most idiots think is the burning bush of the Moses story is in a Greek Orthodox monastery in Sinai, so I don't think it's being guarded by fanatical Muslims.
You're a very gullible person, aren't you?

I didn't find my way to anything. I did not claim that. There have been documentaries made where people have found Noah's Ark and the Burning Bush that was not consumed by fire. Now the question is if humans have found those places if the Bible isn't true?

You've been misinformed. No one has found Noah's ark, in pieces or in any other condition.
There's also evidence that Noah's ark could never have existed because we know the largest possible size of a boat made out of wood and if you try building anything larger then it will flex too much and sink. Trying getting two of each animal or bird onto that boat including all the food for them to survive.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyoming_%28schooner%29
Quote:Because of her extreme length and wood construction, Wyoming tended to flex in heavy seas, which would cause the long planks to twist and buckle, thereby allowing sea water to intrude into the hold (see hogging and sagging). Wyoming had to use pumps to keep her hold relatively free of water. In March 1924, she foundered in heavy seas and sank with the loss of all hands.
Genetics also shows us that the Noah's story is also false because only having two of each creature left would mean that there was not enough genetic diversity left.
