Ask a patient in a psychiatric facility
RE: Ask a patient in a psychiatric facility
Anyway, I'd be a hypocrite if I told you to take care of yourself no matter what, but I really hope you do. Next time you feel like you don't want to, think of later down the line when you'll wish you hadn't.

I get this. And what sucks is that sometimes their bedside manner, horrible as it is, falls right in line with any diagnoses they hand you.

Some insurance companies won't even let you seek a second opinion.

Heck, even if they don't misdiagnose a person, some doctors have shitty bedside manners that need much improvement.

I've always said that those in the medical field should have to take a semester on compassion as a requirement to graduate.

Me too. In my experience personally the majority just leaves things as they are and don't change your meds unless they absolutely have to, even if you'd be much much better on other meds, or even if you don't really need them at all. Most doctors are like "leave things as they are" in my own personal experience... but there are some decent ones who genuinely care and don't just do the minimum required and cover their own asses.

I've had positive experience with Doctors. I feel like they do genuinely care.

They're doing my discharge paperwork now and going to give me a tour of the outpatient facility shortly. Yay!

You know, there's nothing wrong with that. Maybe you think it's hypocritical, and maybe it is - but it's genuine, and nobody's perfect.

In any case, I appreciate it greatly. Also, the difference in your interactions lately here has not gone unnoticed by me, and I think it's awesome. Great

Awesome! Time to get high?

That was always the first thing I did when I got out.

I know he did. I've known Whateverist - at least here - for a number of years and he's generally a good guy, and Incoint him amongst my friends.

I just want to keep this thread about education and recovery.

In the past, mental health threads have been difficult to keep free of unnecessary drama. I'm hoping this one is an exception.

When you get your levels to walk outside with a staff. I would do it as much as possible.

And if you have gym activities available when you get certain levels I would do them if I were you.

It will help.

I'm not sure if you have a gym or not though. I'm hoping you tell us you do.
