I'm sorry!!
To be fair, I don't remember reading any philosophical posts from you. Maybe if I had come across them more you'd be my clear choice.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

By "best philosopher" I suppose we mean "best at writing the maximum amount of words without saying anything about reality"
I jest. Philosophy is important, I've come to realize how much as of late. In certain forms, anyway. It can also be entirely pointless if you're not careful. But if you keep your head in reality at least, the mental workout can be good even without practical applications.

What if I ask you very nicely, as a friend, to please not join?
That's really nice that you and others here are looking out for him. Even if ya'll don't believe there's anything wrong with it, you still respect him enough to discourage him from doing something he'd regret.

Oh come on.
You gotta admit Chad and Nestor are extremely intelligent people and definitely know their stuff when it comes to this subject. Where's the love?

I tend to spend an unhealthy amount of time philosophizing, and with little to no practical application to show for it.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.

It's not just about mental workout. Philosophy nowadays should be the guide of science, in a certain sense. It should be scientific in nature, or at least scientifically informed and oriented, but it's still extremely important, as it ever was. It's the purest form of knowledge there is in that it's raw.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
