This quiz has defined you as a Social Democrat (you may or may not be a Democratic Socialist as well). In general you are in the Liberal mindset, but wish to take it a step further. You favour the brodening of various social programs and a progressive income tax system to help alleviate social inequality. You wish to change the current social paradigm, but through gradual means.

Some of these questions seem somewhat slanted, they are also mostly applicable only to US citizens.

I am a Liberal, it seems. No surprise there.
The question about whether I thought government was either too big or too small was a bit restrictive, but otherwise a surprisingly good questionaire. There was no option other than that I either thought the government was too big or too little when I actually think the governement's size is appropriate and I think the government should do some things less (legislate morality, restricting abortion, and so forth) and some things more (monopoly busting, instituting healthcare reform that doesn't suck, etc) but otherwise I feel that the government is neither too large nor too small, though I worry about our democracy getting replaced by an American Plutocracy, given that a number of leaked papers from some of the largest US corperations have this very thing as a stated goal.
In any case, my liberal ideaology is followed by (in order): Social Democrat, Libertarian, Conservative, Communist/Radical Left, Fascist/Radical Right
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan

What is your political ideology?
Your Result: Libertarian
This quiz has defined you as a Libertarian. Keep in mind, this ideology can be applied to the right or left in the social sense. You believe in a minimal role of the government in solving problems and believe that the "Free market" can handle almost all economic situations.
