the reason that the Arabs as well as the Greeks where able to form the sciences that they formed STEMS deeply and in root of a belief in God and His creation of the whole system

if they didn't believe that God created everything and that there is order and harmony, they couldn't have even begin to start

if you believe that everything was random to begin with and no order and laws governing it

why would you even study it? it was due to the fact of this belief that the Arabs and even Greeks had that allowed them to begin their scientific enquiry in the first place, they believed in laws governing the universe , they believed God allowed them to discover these laws, and hence they went forth discovering them

the Greeks had the belief that everything was made up of four elements and that numbers governed the universe(a kind of jewish kabbalistic belief system) and the Arabs believed also that God created laws and rules that were in exact measured and constant throughout the universe and we can see this in teh QUran where a verse says

"Allah, the lord of the even and the odd numbers"[QUran] which is how one chapter begins

it was THIS belief that allowed scientific enquiry to begin in the first place

if they thought otherwise they wouldn't have even bothered because you cant patent and create patterns and theories on random acts and phenomena which have no continuity and constants

in fact even Newton based all of his theories on the idea that there is order and harmony and patterns in the universe

such as the Universal Gravitation Constant which he discovered, but in order to discover it he couldn't have discovered it without accepting and knowing that ti exists
