Why More Americans Want to Own Guns
RE: Why More Americans Want to Own Guns
An exceedingly poor choice for that task Kusa.  It has no stopping power. A pistol (in para-b chambering) or shotgun (20-16g) is what you want for that...but theyre good for the same reason that a baseball bat is good...so...meh. This may not apply to you, but for me, to keep a firearm in condition to respond to an intruder would be to break the laws regarding proper storage and children in my state (an open carry state, even).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I have walking sticks spotted around the house. Kendo classes were good for something.

Yeah, and kitchens are full of knives if you just have to tax the poor guy in blood for having the audacity to break into your box, lol. IDK, I don't really worry about break ins. That's what locks/alarms/flood lighting are for. The thought of shooting a gun in my house is terrifying. At any point I have 4 kids and two guests, two to a room all around..and the interior walls are thin......

I have a katana and wakizashi by the front door. Intruders are welcome to drop by.

You are misinformed on this one. A 5.56 shooting a 60 grain Hornady Vmax at close to 3000 feet per second is a known man stopper. It liquified the insides of someone.

I hand load my defensive ammo.

You could just click your teeth to the tune of family guy. The intruder would think you are a crazy motherfucker and run away.

I used to teach a class on using the things you have at hand. One thing I taught was how to use a rolled up newspaper to defend yourself. Legal to carry and apparently innocuous.
