Why 'Women's Sports' is sexist

Saying that women are inferior to men is sexist.

Saying that men can usually lift more weight than women (as just one example) is not sexist because it's a statement of objective fact.

Honestly, I don't think it's that hard of a concept. Recognizing general differences between genders and ruling your sports accordingly is not sexist as long as you're not actively trying to disadvantage one group or another.

Don't be silly. The strongest few percent of men can consistently lift more than the strongest few percent of women. The average man can lift more than the average woman. Sex is therefore one indicator that can be used to separate contestants into classes. There are surely others. Since these differences are real, it's not really sexist to do so. Sigh, I'm really starting to think that you are being wilfully obtuse here for the reason I mentioned above.

What, a source that men have a higher average upper body strength?

Anecdotes are practically meaningless in terms of evidence, pool. Just because you know a few girls who lift more than some guys, that doesn't change the fact that in scientific studies with large samples of the population, men consistently have the capacity to lift more weight, probably because we evolved to hunt, climb, and lift big rocks so our species wouldn't die. There's a reason the world record deadlift is set by a dude, and it's not because of sexism.

That being said, there are absolutely some women that perform better than some men at some feats of athleticism, but that's not the fat part of the bell curve in most sports.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

It's probably because of this kind of sexist thinking that women are held back from participating in these types of sports. We should encourage more women to participate in these kinds of sports by conducting campaigns. The stereotype that men are physically better than women is what is holding women back. So please stop spreading these stereotypical ideas and holding women back.

What's that supposed to be, pool, a new genre of passive-aggressive satire you're trying on us because you find feminism just so annoying? Why don't you do something useful instead, like watching grass grow.

That's not sexist thinking, but sure...our cultural narrative and breeding decisions are "holding women back" from being able to put up the stats that men do.  If we raised our daughters to be linebackers and married the biggest, burliest women we could find for generations......we could expect to see greater parity in those sports currently dominated by men. Conversely, if we raised our sons to be nerdy math whizzes and bred with the diminutive males, for generations......the results would likely be similar.

(ey..ey, you leave grass-gazing out of this Alex Wink )

In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. Science isn't "sexist thinking," dipshit. Also, women aren't "held back" from those sports. If anything, creating women's classes for those sports makes women more likely to participate because they don't have to deal with the intimidation of entering a pool of competitors that are by-and-large more physically apt than they are at most feats of speed and strength. Until you can bring me some science to back up all this bullshit you're vomiting, don't fucking bother me with your talk of "stereotypes." Scientific facts are not stereotypes.

See, this is why you believe in magic.

Pool, are you bothered by weightism in wrestling and boxing? Because the competitors are divided into weight classes to make the sport more interesting. Some sports have a senior division. Are they ageist?

Mens and womens divisions recognize real physical, differences between men and women. Some sorts like auto racing do not have seperate divisions because physical gender differences play little or no role. Some sports, like gymnastics, even have entirely different events for men and women. There are physical reasons for that. Some sports that are traditionally divided into men's and women's divisions probably shouldn't be.

As long as the divisions are about real physical differences, I don't see any sexism. Are you bothered by being bared from playing women's soccer?
