No, the likelihood of accountability in the afterlife is much smaller then even the likelihood of it here. So we should make the most of such chances as there are to hold them accountable here.

Agreed. I'll support the idea of a war crimes trial at the Hague for these bastards. I was just being cynical.

So, I would've made the afterlife a lot more nicer than eternal punishment if I wanted to increase the chance of converting people into my invented religion instead of making them feel threatened by the religion.

Christianity didn't become so entrenched and so powerful from the promise of heaven, it grew out of the fear of eternal damnation and burning forever, along with threats, torture, execution and Inquisitions. It was implanted in the minds of the ignorant and uneducated. Most modern day educated people, I feel sure would not believe a word of it.

We don't need to "assume" that hell was a man-made invention, it most definitely was.

There are many intelligent Christians, no doubt, but an "intellectual Christian", is surely an oxymoron.

Because maybe you just underestimated my density a little bit. Sorry if that disappoints you, Min, but thanks for trying to give me the benefit of doubt.

I'd like to assume since I believe in it. Smile

The belief in a invisible sky dictator who must always be obeyed, thanked and praised is the germ genetically engineered to sour any milk of human kindness.

The Earth is quite an improbable place, too, and I think Hell would be even less improbable to exist since it is simpler than the Earth and just contains of a lot of fire, smoke, and boiling water. Nothing that complicated it seems.

Ryaan wins the "taking science out of context award" for atheist forums.org. He does not understand "branes", he is absolutely wrong on Earth being an improbable place, and thinking a mythological place has a better chance of existing than a place that actually DOES exist.

FAIL!
