For a considerable portion of the electorate this is all they needed.

Otherwise, aside from the pie-in-the-sky nature of some of Sanders' proposals you're right.  There is no real difference between them...except Gun Control which I strongly favor.
That wouldn't help him with the rednecks though..... they ain't votin' for no jew socialist, no way - no how.  Jesus wouldn't like it.

Sanders opposes "foreign entanglements" which sounds nice except we are already entangled all over the fucking world as a result of a 60 year process of trying to contain communism.  Most things in life are easier to get into than out of.  I'm not convinced that Sanders is much better adapted to the world situation than that shithead Trump.  You know, when you avoid "foreign entanglements" you get very close to the Dubya position of not talking to anyone who opposes us.  This is a shitty idea.  Hillary is a much better diplomat.

I suppose you can work yourself up into a lather because in the comparison above in a few places one agrees ( or disagrees) and the other "strongly agrees or disagrees" but that's just hyperbole.

Now, here is reality:  No matter who wins the presidency it is vital to flip the senate back to the democrats and to whittle down the GOP majority in the house.  Failing that, expect to see the social gains of the last few years reversed with one more conservatard justice named to the court.  That is what is at stake.

1) First, the general election polls say otherwise. Bernie consistently beats both Trump and Cruz in these polls whereas one cannot say the same for Hillary. You might say general polls at this point still don't mean anything, but these results have been consistent for a long while now. Make of it what you will.

2) Pie in the sky, my ass. You know most of what he's fighting for is actually a reality in many other countries.

3) FTR, Bernie is for gun control. But he doesn't want to do it in an unreasonable fashion where, for example, gun manufactuerers/sellers get punished for selling guns legally to people.

4) No matter how you look at it, there is a considerable difference in policies between Bernie and Hillary.

5) It's your opinion that Hillary is a better diplomat. I have not seen evidence for such.

6) Minor sidenote that often gets overlooked: Bernie is completely against fracking ... unlike Hillary.

As for Hilary vs Trump head-to-head, here's a post I made on TTA:

Quote:I heard a story the other day on NPR reporting that about 40% of Republican voters said they probably would not vote for Trump in the general election. This is not that report, but it supports it, and contains an additional startling poll result: 19% of Republicans state that if Trump is the Republican nominee, they will vote for Clinton.

Let that sink in for a moment.

If Trump is the Republican nominee, they will lose one-fifth of their vote -- even if they don't flip to Hilary, they may well stay home.

I like Sanders and would have liked to see him nominated -- he lacks Clinton's negatives in large part, and would cut into Trump's appeal to independents in a big way. I don't think he will get the nod, but I don't think he should drop out, either. I think he should get more aggressive and if nothing else serve as a useful sparring partner.

It sounds nice on paper, but despite what some may believe, even Saudi Arabia and Iran have elections, so does China.

Our system is messy, hardly perfect, I agree. But even the voters have to have a check on them as well. A pure vote is  not a good thing. In the west, governments have put in place ways for minorities to protect themselves from being overrun by the majority, including majority voters. The SCOTUS on gay marriage proved that the majority doesn't always get what they want.

The problem is not our system itself, it is the current plutocracy which has rigged it. Believe me if if those number were flipped and Bernie was winning instead, his followers would be telling Hillary's followers to stop dragging it out too.

And we are seeing a much worse case with the GOP, and the funny thing is most Dems are cheering for a brokered convention and I DO want Ted to stay in as long as possible to damage Drumpf as much as possible before the general.

But, still, I agree, as much as I wanted Bernie to win, on our side at least, it may be far better that he get out and put his support behind Hillary. He can still be a voice aimed at the entire party up to the election and even after the election.

He'd make a great VP too.

If Clinton gets the nomination, thus probing how stupid and naive millions of Americans are, then America deserves whatever the Republicans throw at them. She's a criminal who is so disliked that she can only get the nomination by cheating. When Trump actually wins I'll be looking forward to the faces of the SJWs that voted that criminal simply because she's a woman.

I'm curious as to why you omitted the other 6 polls on Real Clear Politics average analysis and just commented on Rasmussen?

Clinton even has a seven point lead on fucking Fox's poll!

Maybe for the same reason some gun hugger on twiter yesterday posted a photoshoped meme allegedly from he UN about how the UK has more violence than the US because they don't have as many guns. Lots of people simply cherry pick on line and go with anything because it "looks true" and supports there ideas.

On April 2, Clinton's average lead over Trump was 11.6%. As of May 2, her average lead is 6.7%. I actually think Trump is better than Clinton because Clinton is always trying to pretend to be something that she is not. At least Trump isn't afraid to voice his real views. Clinton served on the board of Walmat and fought for NAFTA, for example, and now she pretends to care about poor people and women.

And just to add, it wasn't just Rasmussen that had Trump up (though admittedly the other polls weren't as recent). A PPP (D) had them tied, USAToday/Suffolk also had Trump up +2, a SurveyUSA had Trump at +5, a FOX New Poll had Trump at +3 and other Fox New Polls had Trump at +5. Clinton should not be losing to Trump! That's how bad Clinton is and how much many people hate her.

RCP takes an average for a reason.

The Rasmussen poll is a telephone survey of 1,000 "likely" voters.  How they know who is likely to vote and who isn't is beyond me.  Since Rasmussen Report is an email service ( I used to belong) I suspect that their list comes mainly from their members.

Don't fool yourself.  Trump flip flops just like Clinton.  Yeah, she says whatever is politically expedient. And although it may have been true at the beginning that Trump just spoke his own mind, you can actually watch him start to say what he knows people want to hear.  Now he hasn't got a voting record and stuff like Clinton does, but I have NO DOUBT that given a few years in politics, he will come out just as wishy washy and fake (Jesus, he is sooo fake) as other politicians.

Examples: He used to be pro-choice; now that he’s running in a Republican primary, he’s pro-life. He used to support assault weapons bans; now he’s against them. He told Howard Stern in 2002 that he supported the invasion of Iraq; now he calls it a mistake.

PEople are, of course, allowed to change their minds as time goes by.  But ther is a difference between changing your mind, and just changing your stance.  His pro-life stance, for instance, is PURELY to appeal to the republican voting base on a key issue.  IT hasnothing to do with his actual thought on the matter.

Lol. Do you mean the Trump who identifies as a Democrat or the current trump?
Do you mean pro-choice Trump or pro-life Trump?
