There is no "I" in "You"

Person A might disagree with that assessment.

Would A be wrong?

Then there's the question of whether we are "the same person" from one moment to the next. Physically we are not, which is going to alter us mentally as well. It's just kind of convenient to string it all together and call it "a person's experiences".

On the contrary, "my legs" has everything to do with the brain's capacity to identify to them as such.

The experiences are in no way separate from the experiencer. We don't exactly live inside our own phenomenological experience... We ARE our phenomenological experience.

This subject seems to have taken on an ironic Buddhist flavor.   Rolleyes

Maybe, if you'd stop sprinkling bullshit all over the place, it wouldn't taste like buddhism in here?   Wink

Secular aspects of Buddhism isn't necessarily all wrong. Karma? That's bullshit. Reincarnation? Bullshit. Meditation? Has never worked for me personally. The indivisibility of our conscious selves? Not bullshit, science supports it.

It may be described in Buddhism but it's not actually a supernatural aspect of it.

The brain works in mysterious ways  Angel

If this had anything to do with the subject at hand (pun intended) ....then it might've held a point.

I doubt it's actually described in buddhism at all...more an issue of buddhists -seeing- or -hearing- buddhism everywhere, in every comment made by anyone on any subject.  Bit like this thread.
(and, ofc..wherever they don't see buddhism...it's irrelevant....lol)

That might be because I like metaphysics.
