Let me just inject my own dark, sad, and depressing experience into this thread.
I was good at socializing until I was relentlessly bullied for being an effeminate kid. Then I shut down. And became a lonely, lonely person.
Now all I have is philosophizing. Philosophizing, and alcohol.
Oh...it's my oldest kid's birthday, so I also have cake. Who wants some!

Nah. Some people, and especially some pretty, young, impressionable girls, are impressed by philosophical ideas. When I was young, I got great mileage out of saying women were intrinsically more moral than men because they are less devious in their sexuality, that beauty is a measure of a person's power to affect-- and I felt deeply affected by the essence of womankind, etc. etc. I carved out a very respectable niche as that "guy who's not like all those other guys." That's right-- philosophy can get you laid, hard and often! 
That being said, you probably don't want to discuss, in a conversation about sports, whether the New York Mets are "really really real as you perceive them to be." You're unlikely to get into a bonded bromance with talk like that.

Apparently, philosophy isn't ALL you've had in life, since we have pretty good evidence that you've had sex at least twice!
Also-- are you transgender? Your avatar pic looks female to me, but bio-female girls don't usually get bullied for being effeminate.

Yep, I'm trans. (My husband is too...hence the feasible procreation).
And now that you mention it, we must HAVE had sex at least twice. Damn. I'm doing better than I thought.

We had a trans posting here before. Male to female trans. She's still on my FB, but she doesn't post here anymore.
