That was me up until a few years ago. I have rheumatoid pain in my fingers and writing by hand doesn't help. Of course, typing doesn't either. Heh.

"You gotta pay your dues if you want to sing the blues, and you know it don't come easy ... "

I hear you, Mama. Getting back into electric guitar -- which I play standing up -- I now have to adjust to eight or so pounds hanging on a shoulder for ninety minutes supported by a bum hip.

Is it suffering? Is it art? Who bloody cares? You gotta do what you gotta do.

Long weekends.

Cold beer.

Sitting in the dark, alone, watching a good horror movie.

Egging the neighbours when they start setting off fireworks.

Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni:

"You did WHAT?  With WHO?  WHERE???"

I like to write poetry with a pencil. You know that time when the lead is perfect. Not too sharp. Not too dull. Ahhh yes it is good.

Laughter

Being at the beach, hearing the children laughing and screaming. Hearing the sea birds and the waves crashing ashore. Feeling the warmth of the sun on me and the smell of sun tan lotion.

Funny how our preferences run -- I miss the old Bic ballpoints, you know, the ones with a hexagonal casing.

I only use pencil for the New York Times crosswords -- they're that challenging, needs me an eraser.

Outside of that, I prerfer pen, for the feel of it -- smooth, rolling.

Funny how our preferences run. A simple thing like how the stylus touches the page influences us, no?

Two minutes after sitting in it I fall asleep.

Handsome guitar, too right. Nice collection you've got. I've got three: The SG pictured upthread, alongside an Ibanez AS 93, and a mid-80s Yamaha FG-450SE:

The Yamaha is still my favorite for now, but it's out on loan to a buddy who's gigging it while his own box is in the shop for work. I'm loving getting back into electric playing, though ... I've missed it so much.

That Ibanez is a good looking guitar, my next (which will be some time from now!) will be a semi-hollow body, I've never played around with P90's either, so I've been looking at the Epiphone Riviera P93, 2 birds with one stone and all that.

Same kind of story really, I played electric in my teens until my early twenties, then I stuck to acoustic until about 4 years ago.  I've got a Yamaha acoustic myself, don't play it too much these days, having way too much fun with the electrics.

I got my hands on a Line 6 Helix unit not too long ago, so much fun it's creepy.

This is mine, well I got it from google images but this is the model, make, colour of my guitar and looks exactly like it.

I did this guitar solo with it, which is another pleasure of mine.  It starts at 2:13 into the song.

I love the look of that guitar.  My dream guitar is a Gibson Black Beauty, just don't think I'll ever get to the point where I think spending over 3k on a guitar is acceptable.

Nice work on sound cloud, what are using as your DAW?

Thanks, your tracks were better than I thought they would be. Way heavier and more skilful than I expected.
I'm actually just in the most unreliable band ever. These are all programmed by me. I'm now just waiting for the vocalist to record his stuff over it and then we can get something on YouTube.
I wasn't even going to post this yet without the vocals on but I saw you people posting your guitars and your music and I got impatient.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
