It's pretty fun, I get in about half an hour a day of gameplay. Not a patch on the actual main games of course, but I really like the concept of using the real world and so far it's scratching my collector's itch.

Screw challenging gym leaders though - you cannot kill that which has no life.

RE: Pokemon go.
I haven't read all this thread so sorry if I'm repeating...

I was genuinely concerned that this game could lead to real world harm. People being run over and such. Apparently this has already happened.

I'm normally against banning games, this is the first one I would consider banning. It's potentially turning reality into a game. A VR game, where you can die.

That's a little over the top.

In what way?

Emma told me some kid walked off a cliff "chasing" a Pokemon. I'm concerned about kids being out there playing this game. And to be honest, I'm even concerned about adults.

Everything is dangerous and might kill you in a freak accident. These few cases where it happens where pokemon go is involved doesn't prove anything but the fact that the media chooses to focus on those for obvious reasons.

Anyway, to want to ban games, any game, is a very extreme position to take and can't be justified in my eyes.

I said I'd consider it, and I put that word in bold. I don't think considering anything is extreme.

Things aren't equally dangerous.

It was two guys in their early twenties in Encinitas (down the street from my town- when I'm in SoCal), and apparently they'd been drinking. Banning Pokemon isn't going to make stupid people unstupid.

I'm 34. I was never into Pokemon as a kid. That being said, I'm having a ton of fun with Go. I'm using it as an excuse to exercise. I guess my enjoyment stems from how much I like RPG video games where you get to explore an open world and see what you find. I've been all over the surrounding areas of where I live to see what I can find. It's fun to see so many other people doing it. To see the anti-social, the overweight, etc people coming out and walking around getting exercise and conversing with people.
