Far as I understand it he pulled a private conversation into the open. Which is a breach of trust in any case and obviously against the rules.

The actual wording of the PM rule is that "Posting the contents of private correspondence of any kind is not allowed", which is really cut and dry. Without it, what's the point of being able to block someone bothering you if they just say what they want to in open forum? Not to mention the calling out rule as well. Hopefully penguin can come back a reformed penguin and we can all just move along.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Hmm. Wonder if we could shut down one of the servers while Pengy is away to save some money. I wonder how much our post count will drop in his absence.

Oh, I get it. But tbh, it's a scary world we live in and when there are literally people spread out across the globe that all come together on a place like a forum, we really don't know what each other is like, outside of that arena. We can only see what each of us chooses to reveal about ourselves.
Sort of reminds me of that meme shared here the other day about the dog being on the internet.
If it is any comfort, if you met me IRL, you would be shocked to learn that I am exactly as online, maybe a bit less acerbic.

Yeah, I'm pretty careful about who I get to know online, because too often we only see what we're permitted. When I see someone trying to reimage his online persona, the distrust only deepens.
It's very important to me to be myself online, which is why I don't mind letting some personal info out. I want to be liked for myself, not for a role I play.
