Sometimes when I read the log I want to give more than a thumbs up. As I envision it, this would be the thread for doing so. Since, as a non-mod, you can't (and shouldn't be able to) respond there, I thought it would be good to have a place where the rest of us can offer our two cents worth (for free of course).

Chthulu said:

Banned MattMVS7 for being a sock of Mozart Link who was banned for posting long, incoherent screeds copy-pasted to multiple sites.

Go figure.

You wouldn't think anyone who has been banned and is looking to sneak in a new sock would choose a user name that began with "Matt", would you?

Then, after rexbeccarox wrote:

Banned ShaMan for flaming the board and being a freedomfromforum sock.

Chthulu shared:

Banned the original freedomfromforum account.

There's a lesson to be learned here - if you get caught with a sock account and are confronted by the staff, own up to it. You might get away with only a warning or temporary ban.

You guys are doing such a good job at this. It had occurred to me that if ShaMan had fessed up to being a sock after having established his new more reasonable presence, it would be great to have the latitude of welcoming him back after some slap on the wrist for socking. Of course, he then slipped right back into over-generalizing everyone else's evil shortcomings while grandstanding his own virtue. Hopefully he'll get some insight into himself from all this.

We got a guy that tried to sock, got caught, then confessed. A warning sufficed.

That reminds me, where is sparty?

I enjoy the Staff Log posts, appreciate their work in keeping the site up and orderly (such as it is).

About the only suggestion I might offer would be for some artwork on the thread showing severed heads on pikes.

Or maybe bodies broken on the wheel . . .

The staff is very reasonable. I am the loose cannon always rattling shit up. What were they thinking? Big Grin

The shaman story was odd. I feel like I missed some quality drama.

Thank you for this thread, whateverist! I have had the same urge for some time, but not known how to pursue it. Kind of forgot about the term "peanut gallery".

That's my avatar on some other forum (well, still, not animated) that exposes various YouTubers for this and that.

Yes, the peanuts are complimentary but your two cents' worth must still be donated for free.
