A loving person

RE: A loving person
Wait...you mean someone was blind enough to marry you?

She has my deepest sympathies.

Where would your husband be? I could not sleep at night if my wife's love was solely dependent on me being the same person she married 15 years ago.

Look at brad and angelina, I am 100% sure she loved him for who he was, and at the same time divorced him for who he was...

Yet this is the love you are bragging about??? Seriously?!?!?

People change and you either fall in love with them all over again or you fall out of love.
How heart breaking... That in your world love is a fleeting thing... And what's more you are ok with that. That is almost as sad as a little kid knowing he is not going to have any Christmas presents because his parents Dont believe in it.

On one hand that is his relaity, but on the other it's sad that he is ok with his diminished childhood.

Yes people do fall out of love, but what if you didn't have to? Would you choose to love someone forever or at least for a life time if you could?

I have this lifetime love and i can tell you nothing could be better.

Quote:Love doesn't hafta be forever, it doesn't lessen the love you had for the person at the time in who they were then. I've been married before and we were together from the time I was 16 to 23. The day we got married I was very happy and in love. But at that age you are still finding out what you want in life. He ended up changing his mind about what he wanted. He decided he wanted the military life and to move around the world. I was a military brat that was done with the military and wanted one home and stability. I ended up falling out of love with the new him and we divorced.
But, what if he decided that 'he' was now a 'we' and no longer lived for self but adopted the role Christ had for a husband? what if.. whatever he decided both of you could agree on and come to terms with? would you want to be able to live as a "we" for the rest of your life?

Quote:My husband now has gone through huge changes in his personality and I just keep falling more in love with him every day. To compare him now to who he was when we first started dating is like looking at two different people but I have loved both versions of him. Human love isn't unconditional it is based on trust and (despite our lack of faith in god) faith in the person. I have faith that our love is more than any other emotion. At least I can hear my love tell me he loves me back and it's not in my imagination or some old book.
Imagine what you have now and apply it to the first guy, where/when the passion of youth was stronger but the bond of a more secure love/relationship, and now add a man who does not live for self who is not an individual but an extension of yourself.

That is what i say you are missing. you have experienced different strengths of the elements of love at different times in your life, but again what if you could experience what you experienced and what you missed all at once in the same person?

Doesnt this just underscore my point?

That if you don't really know what the full range of love is then how in the world are you in a position to judge what I have done?

Is your love so narrowly defined that you can not imagine not even one instance where a harsh word would be demanded by love?

I will acknowledge a wide range of ways to love others, but then again, not all ways of loves are favorable to me. Some I may find manipulative, some too selfish, objectifying, such as the way of love expressed in the Bible.
You don't even know what love is...

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. 5 Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. 6 Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth. 7 Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits. 8 Love will never end.

In the above list where do you see anything you mentioned listed?

You don't have the monopoly on the right definition of love. From my perspective, I suspect you are missing something that would make you really love others.

As for the Bible, that's just words what you quoted. Even Saddam Hussein wrote a letter of love once. What about the action component of love expressed in the Bible?

Lucky.  I'm just looking for someone breathing who can tolerate me.

Which again, goes to only support my initial assessment. If you are looking to modify by adding or removing elements from this definition to validate you own expression of love, then you do not know what love is..

What you all seem to be miss arguing is, that I am not saying your love is wrong... just not complete. You think your version of puppy love is what makes the world go round. I'm said it's maybe just a little deeper than you understand. Not that i can swim to the bottom, but I know for certain it is a sight deeper than you guys think it is because i 've been deeper than what you all describe.

For instance you are asking about the action component of love. The 1 cor 13 verse starts out Love IS... which denotes the following list is a list of action, (Love is A and is not B, Love Xs but does not Y) but you evidently do not see the list as being active, which again indicates your understanding of the word is limited. Which is why you are looking for action in a list of action words... (Because your understanding of said words means you do not see action in the list.) If you do not see a list full of action and how those acts pertain to love then your understanding of said love is limited...

I am not convinced by your claims that the love you feel is any different than what I or anyone else feels.

Drich ... I am referring to the deeds of love expressed in the Bible ... not the words ... deeds such as Jesus supposedly dying for the sins of all, and that shit.

And puppy love? Just goes to show you have no clue how I view love. But please keep up that ego of yours. I'm sure you deserve to be so special that you would understand love better than any of us.
