It's one way, but as both Brexit and this result have shown, it's not necessarily the most effective.

Life has fucked the common man. Government is just a convenient scapegoat.

It's not effective at all. As a matter of fact, it pisses people off when they are controlled by the list of words. Pissed off people tend to push back after a while.

Calling out the bigots didn't help one whit. It made things worse, as has been pointed out. Oh fuck, but now its ok to proudly be one. What have we done??

Look at the state of that.
Looks like a road grading tool, not a delicious treat! Perhaps if you place a chocolate covered cherry in each of the spaces to compensate?

Less revenue. The whole purpose of the sham was making more money on less product.

Thanks love. I'm sorry your candidate didn't win. I know how much you were rooting for her. Thanks CL. But just so you understand, I'm not bummed my candidate didn't win. I'm not bummed my party is out. I only registered Dem again to vote Bernie in the primary.
I'm devastated on behalf of our country, all the poor from the heartland to the inner cities, who are about to lose all social safety nets. I'm distraught on behalf of lgbt folks who are about to be shoved and locked back in their closets. I'm outraged on behalf of all the woman who's healthcare will now be in the hands of their employers and politicians, instead of their doctors and themselves.I'm heartsick for the millions of species of animals that will go extinct as unregulated corporations spew ever greater amounts of garbage into their habitats and bodies. I'm frightened for the world we are leaving to our children. Not just America, but all of it.
I wasn't rooting for Hillary so much as I was rooting for the hope of the future. Yes, I'm nieve and misguided I'm sure Rhythm will drop in to point out, but there it is.
Trump isn't Hitler. I doubt he'll start WW3. But the damage he and Pence can actually do to individuals, our nation, other countries and yes the whole planet, is a very real concern.
We can talk again in 30 years when potable water is fought over, and the Great Barrier reef is a dead memory and we can no longer eat fish from the ocean. The science deniers that just got power could be worse than war though.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

1984
Yea! 1984! Right wing death squads financed by U.S. dollars. I remember bringing food to Hondurans and El Salvadorans who were being hid by Sanctuary because fascists thought they were communists. My friend became one of the first man to die of AIDs in Az and people said it was gods wrath. I made really great money that year under the table. I claimed $112 on my tax return. When I got audited the IRS asked me what I was doing that year for income and I told them I was a wino. They accepted my answer. My daughter was born and some skinhead threatened to kill me and my family because I am white and my wife was black. Reagan was re-elected without stalling the release of American hostages in Iran and claiming he loved liberty. Ollie North was still giving blow jobs to Central American dictators. Good year 1984!

Oh and I know my post sounds dramatic. I already struggled almost daily to keep my faith in humanity from bottoming out. Can't turn on the fucking tv without seeing animals neglected and abused by pos humans, starving kids, rape and genocide, people murdering each other with the slightest provocation. And this is one of the most peaceful times in history, per population.
So I don't watch the news, or read papers. But I still know it's there. Right this minute someone is dying horribly of a preventable disease, someone else is starving while I throw food away. I could go on but you get the point.
This election was just too much for me. Too much hate, too much us vs them. I wanted my kid to have a hopeful future. But honestly I expect her life from about age 40 or 50 on to be pretty bad. And I hope I never have grandkids.
Man, I hope I feel more hopeful when I see what he does and who he picks, but the signs do far aren't good.
