"where can you turn?"
Well, right off hand I can think of several religions to turn to: Budhism, Zoroastrianism, Asatru, and Hinduism. As far as water is concerned, didnt he know that we atheists mostly drink the blood of Christian babies with our fellow Jews and Satanists?
I understand exactly what a poe is. The characterized fundamentalist stereo type the average atheist poe poster creates never falls anywhere near current mainstream Christian beliefs, hence my comment, which is still valid.

I don't think this was intended to be a mockery of mainstream Christianity. I think the point of this was to show that it's hard to tell actual creationist arguments from the jokes. I was always under the assumption that creationism was not mainstream Christianity. Am I wrong?

This is the best thing i have read all day.
I shall discard my knowledge of the water cycle and accept creationism now. Definitely the funniest thing i have seen in days. Cunt
No you are correct it's not as attested to by the small sampling of the Christian reactions here FNM. My comment was a response to gawdzilla thinking I had no clue what a poe was. The point I was making was that too often the characterization is often aimed mainstream Christianity. For instance if (just an example from someone I hope won't get offended) I was to pretend to be an asshole and said.. but atheist are like that all the time just look at min. That would be just as damning and fallacious as some of these preposterous poes. It does nothing to come to some kind of societal norm/peace or mutual understanding, it only suffices to mock another group of people who believe different than you (that was a general you). It doesn't break down walls it builds them and reinforces stereo types,. that if left alone would die out themselves slowly because they're ridiculous.
