Yes I am new to this forum.
I live in Europe. However my father is Egyptian and my mother is European. I have lived in both in a muslim country (UAE) and in christian countries so I know the differences.

Ok. I'll try to help YOU out. You say you want to help us understand Islam better, but we didn't ask for help, so getting upset over a funny response won't get you anywhere here. Welcome to the forum. I'll have some questions! It should be interesting. Outside of the main tourist areas U.A.E. Is corrupted by the Cult of Najd so I don't plan to visit anytime soon.

Okay, I have a serious question.
The following passages from the Quran, should they be taken literally?
“I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers.” Quran 8:12
“Let not the unbelievers think they will ever get away. They have not the power so to do. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah and your enemy…” Quran 8:59-60
“When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them.” Quran 9:5
“Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate.” Quran 9:73
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Well lets start with the teenagers. I myself am in my teenage years so I should know best. Here where I live in central Europe, the amount of teenagers smoking cigarettes, weed, taking drugs, drinking alcohol is way greater. Every teen here does it and I myself has tried cigarettes and alcohol as a muslim. In the UAE there were way less of that but there was still a lot of teens smoking cigarettes, and a tiny bit of drinking alcohol. Dubai has a lot of stuff to do for teenagers, all those malls and stuff. That why I think the teens did less of bad stuff then here in Europe.
Dubai was also way safer. A teenager there could stay outside until the early morning hours alone because nothing would happen. Here you cannot stay outside that late because there are a lot of people who are drunk and carry knifes. Also here in Europe because of the refugees coming in it has gotten way less secure.

You're using Dubai in the past tense so I assume you moved from Dubai to Europe. What caused you to move from the safer, probably richer country to go to central Europe?
I'm also assuming you/your family has a decent amount of money if you say you and other teenagers enjoyed the malls in Dubai. Why would you not decide to stay there?

I'm curious about your opinion of groups like ISIS (who are the direct cause of the refugee crisis in Europe) and the polls that show 60-80%+ of the Muslim population, including those in Europe, supporting the killing of anyone who leaves Islam or who insult your prophet/religion?
Another is what is your opinion of the treatment of women in many of the more conservative Muslim countries/societies?

1. Lets start with the first verse you mentioned (Quran 8:12)
You have to read the verse together with the ones before and after (8:9-8:19). When reading those verses you can see that those verses were a battle (battle of Badr). A battle where the pagans of Mecca travelled to Medina to kill muslims. With this verse it's meant that he (God) will help in the war against them and protect them.
2. Verse 8:59-60
These verses are also verses of battle. They say that muslims may fight their enemies. YOU cut out the most important part though, the verse following those two verses, verse 8:61. 8:61 states that you should battle your enemies but if they offer you peace, you have to accept.
3. Verse 9:5
Again. You're just picking specific verses without reading the previous ones or the following ones. This verse relates to the treaty with the Pagan Arabs that they broke. He commands the people to kill those because they broke the treaty. However the following verses state that if they repent, you should let them go and even give them Zakah.
4. Verse 9:73
This verse is part of the Tabuk expedition which prophet Muhammed and his companions took part in. He head that the Roman Empire was preparing to attack the Muslims in Arabia. Prophet Muhammed prepared the muslims to fight back against the enemies.
