Atheist Forums' Biggest Loser

I'm contemplating the idea of an "AF Biggest Loser." If you don't know what biggest loser is, I think it's an idea people got from game shows, but a lot of workplaces and families do it as a way to encourage each other to lose weight. I'm not *exactly* sure how they work, but I would look into it if enough people were interested here. If you feel like trying to lose some weight/get fit/maintain your current fitness level with the help and support AF members, chime in. If enough people want to, I'll get it started.
Edit: A lot of people have fitness goals that don't include losing weight. I think we can all find a way to be included and make it sort of a mixed bag.

So I might be interested, depending on the specifics. I personally can't get a serious start for at least a couple of weeks, but I can possibly just jump in when I'm ready.

I'm cool with waiting a few weeks. It takes time for people to get prepared for this kind of thing. It's not the sort of thing anyone should start without prep, I think. I imagine we'll keep it low intensity. I want it to be fun, not painful. We can let everybody set their own eating and exercise specifics with each of us sharing what works for them or some tips they found. I think it will naturally evolve. I've read a bit about it since I posted this. I guess you do weigh ins once a week. I'll probably offer some prize for the biggest loser.

Not me. Actually I think I am underweight 80 kg with 1,92 m high. It seems a good idea that can motivate people, though.

You could always set fitness goals, LP, it doesn't have to be about weight loss.

Believe me, doing that a while, making the regular meals and eating with care to diversify. I remain steady at 80 Kg. Its not that I lack the physical strenght, but 90 kg would be just peachy.

Even just exercise without a goal in mind. Just to tag along, eat healthy and have a bit of camaraderie.
That said, Tiberius is underweight too (or was). He drinks Ensures to stay at a healthy weight. We learned that trick when my anxiety was so bad I couldn't eat.

I'd give it a shot.

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.

There are some challenges that get complicated, using body fat lost instead of weight lost because everyone comes into it at a different weight. People with lots to lose might lose the first pounds easier. However, I don't see a need to get that complicated, unless someone else wants to. I'm just happy to have a little fun together trying to be healthy. If someone who is extra overweight loses it easily, they still lost it, so I'm good. Let me know if you want to do it the "official" way instead.

Not sure I can lose any weight...
1.73m and 70kg and y'all pervs can see what that looks like in A69.
But I ride a bike everyday to and from work, 20 minutes, each way, with no major elevations, now that I'm kinda full time in the U.K.. Before, I was doing 40 minutes each way, in Lisbon... Slightly more aggressive elevations there, but nothing major.
Aside from that, I exercise my fingers daily on the keyboard, and my jaws over breakfast, lunch and dinner. :-P
