It's as clear as day that the Trump administration leaked these. The form doesn't tell you anything! We need to see the sources of income, among other things. This makes it look like Don was a good little boy and paid his fair share; case closed! But Maddow had to go and hype it up and make it seem like it was the smoking gun in some grand conspiracy. This makes the media look bad, if anything. This will be the last we see or hear about his returns. Way to go Rachel.

It's interesting though that 86% of the tax he paid that year is one of the ones he wants scrapped, the one brought in in an attempt to make sure that the rich pay at least the same rate as ordinary people.

Like I said to Min, it's not all that interesting. Trump is dirty rich. The GOP wants massive tax cuts for the rich. Everyone knew that already. But this is a cherry picked portion of the tax return that makes Trump look good to anybody who didn't already hate him. And the White House will hide behind this every time the returns get brought up again.

To add to the suspicion of Trump being the one who mailed his own tax returns, the second page of the document obtained by Johnston was stamped "Client Copy," leading many to speculate that those were Trump's own copy.

I can say with 100% certainly that my total effective tax rate is a damn sight higher than his, particularly taking the AMT into account, on a whole lot less income.

If Trumped leaked this, you can bet it was cherry picked to give the best possible impression, and I'm not impressed.

That makes it sound like... she has Trumps recent tax returns... when in reality she had two pages from over a decade ago that tells us very little. Bait and switch IMO.

So, the White House confirms they are real, but Trump himself this morning says they are fake.

I completely hate politics right now. The contradictions coming from the white house are literally daily. Not that it matters, this is not even news. When we see a full tax return, a recent one, that will be news.
