Hello there. You are but one in a line of many who have tried and failed. But welcome anyway. I hope your stay, however long, is a pleasant one.
Hope so .... the way the spell checker works on my computer I will be having a ... pheasant satay rather that pleasant stay.
Well it is time for me to retire for the night .... tumble weed .... dripping tap .... yes I know no one is here right now. "God bless you all every one" - pinochio shrek reference
Welcome, hopey. I had just wondered if you had done an introduction thread.
You're going to face a lot of skepticism here, which you should be expecting given the nature of the site. We expect people to back up their claims if they actually care whether we believe them, but if you're good natured and easy-going and don't lash out at all of us or otherwise over-generalize if one of us hurts your feels; you'll be all right here.

Good luck with that.
In the meantime, good to have you aboard.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I get enough of that already in my day-to-day life. Would you like it if people tried to convert you to atheism all the time? Sometimes it's better to live and let live.

Hey, so welcome to the place... um we have a few religious folk runnin around here. We tend to like them pretty well as long as they aren't bombarding the site with religious stuff and not listening to us. Most of us have been religious ourselves and have made the choice to step away from it. You will find that everything you have to say we have probably heard multiple times. I personally came to this site to get away from Christians simply because I live in the American bible belt and I get enough religious crap in real life but I understand why we shouldn't close ourselves off to healthy debate which is why the religious people can join here too. Maybe if you want to convert us we could try and deconvert you :p

I doubt Biblical spin, scare tactics, bald assertions, and/ or goofy, unsubstantiated anecdotes are going to draw anyone here 'back to faith'. Perhaps you have something amazing and unprecedented to offer, though.

No thank you. I have had enough of that bullshit to last 300 lifetimes.
I have had many experiences with God, but one thing that motivated me this week was: I attempted to lead people to Jesus, I tried to do a thing called prophecy, which (some people can do) seemed to go haywire, I attempted it on some poor atheist, and no matter what I tried nothing seemed to work. However after that God started to drop things in my mind which were true.
A man approached me coming down the path, a voice told me he was a Muslim, and a Sunni Muslim. He began to walk past me and me not sure whether what I heard was true, asked him are you a Muslim, he said "yes", I said a "Sunni", he said yes. So I spoke to him about the errors in the Quran, and how it is deplorable that anyone would preach wife beating, and terror in the name of the living one. And no the guy did not have a beard, and wear a dress, he was just a normal man.
One thing I have noticed is that God does not work by my will but his. He some times gives me this insight other times, he hides from me what is going on in a persons life.
My name is hope-y because I hope in God, and want to bring you that hope, and hope that God shows up.
So greetings all.
Faith in what? Faith= Claiming to know something that you don't know. And what's a god? And which one of the thousands of human gods are we talking about? Odin? Ahura Mazda? Rama? I hope that Ahura Mazda shows up too. We would finally have some real proof of its existence. But it's going to have to be something a LOT more than stories and voices in your head. Something scientifically provable.
Another preacher. But this is the "welcome" forum, so . . .
