Because his competition was nearly as bad as he is. He talked a populous message while Hillary was the establishment candidate. He should be the easiest hurdle to skip over, and the DNC picked the worst person to "fight" him. I'm as baffled and ticked as the next guy.

Hillary did not set foot in 33 states after her nomination and her voluntary acquiescence, grotesquely and inefficiently out spending Trump 2 to 1, shitting in the mouths of Bernie supporters, and 100% comporting herself for the last 20 years as though the presidency is specifically an entitlement for HER cost her the election. The 'pubs could have nominated Jeffrey Dahmer and still won.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Hard to rally the base when you don't even visit a lot of the base.
