That is a fact, though it is also a fact that black lives are more prone to violence from the police force than white lives.
What concerns me, however, is the segregation of the movement, especially when you can do a google search to find out that the BLM movement practically does not want white people to help them out at all.
Doctor Martin Luther King accepted the help from white people, yet this BLM movement seems to be reticent of it.
Racism exists in the BLM movement.
Those black bastards! Who are they to look prejudicially toward white people!?
(when they've been pushed down for hundreds of years, denied equal opportunity, and, not that rarely, shot by white police officers)
Well, I guess if THEY are racist, then YOUR racism is perfectly justifiable, huh?
Look, dude, you've been told so many times that it is only willful ignorance that you refuse to get it: "Black lives matter" because it is black lives which are asymmetrically threatened in our culture. In order to establish balance and equality, we must protect those lives which are ACTUALLY IN JEOPARDY. It's not a subtle difference, is it? Really? Do ya think so, actually?

So whites are more racist or are blacks and whites equally racist? Please educate me. Blacks are disadvantaged compared to whites so it makes more sense for them to be more likely to be racist. Yes, there are still many racist whites, but times are changing. Obama was elected, twice. Muslims and blacks are also more homophobic than whites. Now, if you see that statement and want to take it as me putting down blacks and Muslims, then fine, you can choose to interpret it that way, but in reality I want to be their ally, and I really don't like seeing anti-black racism or bigotry and attacks against Muslims who have to deal with way too much shit (with shithead Trump making it worse). I want things to be better for blacks and Muslims, but I'm not going to ignore reality so I don't hurt anyone's feelings. If something seems to be true to me then I'm going to say it.
You got the facepalm because you made a statement of "fact" that is questionable, and didn't bother to back it up with, you know, facts.

No doubt he's against the idea of declaring "endangered species", too. After all, those pesky spotted owls are just whining about not having a place to roost.

Nope, I put the words "I think" specifically to show that I was not meaning to state a fact, but rather my opinion.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Societal_a...uality#Law
In this wikipedia article it shows the percentage of people who believed that being LGBTI should always be a crime.
The first country with a significant white population on that list is 19th down, which is Russia.
All the countries higher are either African or Islamic countries.
And it's also reflected in how laws are applied in Islamic and African countries relative to European countries, America, Canada and Australia.
For instance European and Western white majority countries have legalized homosexual marriage in comparison to some Islamic and African countries which have the death penalty.
In relation to black Americans though from what I can statistic on wikipedia seem to show they have the same view as American whites have. Slighlty less favourable towards gay marriage by 1 percent or so but not significant.
This is in relation to the demographics behind black/Islamic populations attitude to homosexuality.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Without any other context behind it, it does seem somewhat exclusionary and possibly with an air of superiority depending on how deep you might read into it, so I can certainly see why the slogan doesn't jive well (white paranoia and those who have managed to ignore the problem that helped inspired it). I would have probably tried coming up with something a little more in line with the actual problem, like "End racial profiling" or "Stop police harassment", but then the three-word thing never appealed to me personally. Crime still happens, and because of even more widespread forms of prejudice and segregation, a disproportionate amount is either committed by minorities or at least they seem to be the ones filling up prisons more when caught and tried. So something more along the lines of "Tax the rich" or "Massive Economic Reform" would be the only real thing that would start moving things in the right direction. Better standard of living, more education, hard to stay ignorant and bigoted or find a good reason to depend on crime for a living.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
---
There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

"Black lives matter" isn't about who is or isn't racist. It's about a section of the population being disadvantaged for racist reasons.

I haven't really looked into it, but I do remember Black Lives Matter themselves tweeting that over 80 % of murdered trans people in the US are women of colour. I know we're talking homophobia and not transphobia, but if that's even close to true, plus with the homophobia seen in rap music and on message boards, etc, it would seem to me that LGBTQ people of colour have it worse off right now from their own communities. https://twitter.com/Blklivesmatter/statu...6376525825 I'm surprised to hear that they have similar thoughts to whites on marriage equality though. That's great to hear.

Yes, and like I said, I like the name Black Lives Matter, I would like to be an ally of the black community, and I agree that they have much to be angry about, and I don't take issue with them wanting their voice to be heard.

I never thought "black lives matter" was directed to Joe Blow racist white guy. It is the institutional racism that should be brought under control right away, and needs to be called out until it is. That the police should stop harassing and shooting them. Judges should stop sentencing them more severely and being so eager to fill the prisons up with them. And businesses whose employees are permitted or encouraged to treat every black person with hostile suspicion need to knock that off.
That a KKK guy doesn't like blacks or says rude things to them isn't really what it's about. Same goes for if a black muslim doesn't like me or says rude things to or about me. It is unfortunate but changing their minds isn't something a movement such as "black lives matter" is likely to accomplish.

The thing is that the ongoing oppression of the black population in America isn't an opinion, a predilection, or a preference. It's a numerical fact.
