Done deal. I've booked our flights. We're going to South Carolina to visit my aunt in Greenville for the eclipse. Two and a half minutes of totality in Greenville. Too bad she actually lives outside of town where the totality will last only forty some seconds. Anyone nearby there got room for 7 or 8 more?

Anyone planning on seeing it? I am going to drive 250 miles to Missouri, rain or shine!! Already booked at Hotels.com 4 months ago!
Can't... but I'll live vicariously through your excitement..
Incidentally - I read this thread title and immediately thought of Tattoo going "Da Plane! Da Plane!"

I moved halfway across the planet just in time to miss it. They expect 1 million people to decend on the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I can't decide if I'm sad to miss it, or lucky...lol.

Apparently you can simulate what you're missing just by turning off the lights at night and imagining you were outside during the day.

Nebraska is anticipating (apparently) 1/2 million of out of state visitors. It's a big state compared to the Willamette Valley, but the state really thins out as you go west for towns, roads and amenities.

That's like simulating what you are missing just by inflating a doll and imagining it has a pulse.

Likewise, having put a finger of my right hand into the fist of my left hand, I no longer need to wonder what actual coitus would be like.
