A question for the ladies of AF

RE: A question for the ladies of AF
Intelligence is a pretty attractive trait for me as well is that sapiosexual? I don't really get turned on by intelligence but it's definitely a attractive quality

No, I don't think that would qualify. I think it's very common for intelligence to be an attractive quality, but I don't think just anybody who finds intelligence attractive qualifies for sapiosexual.

I find intelligence sexually attractive, for instance, but I can also be very sexually attracted to stupid people, and, even in some cases, I find stupidity attractive (as long as it's not harmful stupidity), so despite finding intelligence sexually attractive, I am definitely not a sapiosexual.

Losty can you add asexual as a 4th option if possible? I forgot Mathilda requested that as well.

Another thing I find interesting is that sexual orientation in the sense of what sexes you would like to have sex with, and sexual orientation in the sense of what sexes you are attracted to, are often confused. If someone is sexually attracted to particular genders, but has no interest in engaging in sex in reality and prefers to stick to fantasy, then I guess they are in one sex sexual and another sense asexual? They're sexually attracted, but not interested in having sex, and prefer fantasy to reality.

And not only are there people who are sexually attracted to certain genders but have no interest in having sex with anyone in reality, there are also asexuals who have no sex drive at all, but who are capable of feeling romance, and so they therefore have a relationship with a sexual person, despite not being interested in sex, but not only that they also in fact willingly engage in sex with their partner, and consent to sex with their partner, despite having no sex drive, just to please their partner. After all, "Not attracted to X" is different to "has an aversion to X". So yeah, interestingly, asexuals can willingly engage in sexual relationships with sexuals and still be asexuals. And sexuals can have no interest in engaging in sex with anyone, but they're still sexuals rather than asexuals because they are still sexually attracted to some people, despite having no interest in sex (although maybe that means they're asexual in some other sense? So this is what I'm saying, there's 'sexual orientation' in the sense of 'what genders you would willingly have sex with' and there's sexual orientation in the sense of 'what genders you are sexually attracted to').

Interesting how asexuality doesn't get talked about much at all and we hardly even know what exactly it entails. I wonder if it's because it's incrediy rare, or if people just keep that to themselves.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I'd like to think that asexuality doesn't get talked about much because there's no big groups of people hating on them, because they can't find anything "wrong" with it, because not having sex with anyone isn't frowned upon.

OP: Just me thinking. The bigger question might be "Are you atheist because of religions lack of acceptance of nonconforming sexual preferences?". This kind of turns what to judge around. Not that CL was making a judgement of people but maybe just questioning.

Sorry if this has been addressed, lazy reader day.

Actually, I think there's not as much prejudice against asexuals because not many people believe it exists at all, and it's also uncommon. But there is (some) prejudice against it.

When many people do hear of it and discover it exists for example, they don't just often react in disbelief, but they do rather commonly react with prejudice. There is this stereotype for example (among those who actually know of the existence of asexuality) that asexuals aren't really lacking a sex drive, they're just phobic of sex and denying their urges or something. And they do get told they're "unatural" or "frigid". There are asexual forums that allow sexuals to join, for example, and asexuals often have to deal with stuff like that from sexuals.

Of course, the prejudice against asexuals is certainly less common, as many people don't even know asexuals exist, and asexuality is certainly less common than sexuality.

I wonder if asexuality is a hormone deficiency of sorts rather than an actual orientation...
.
If all the right hormones are there and functioning properly, I can't understand, from a biological standpoint, why the sexual urges would be absent.
