A bit of my backyard (taken just now on my crappy not so smartphone...)

Not very Australian is it?
What were you expecting? Gum trees and kookaburras? Sheesh... Someone needs to shoot Paul Hogan for his false advertising...!

Nah, they were wiped out by a road train on their way to Iggy's yard.

I'd be real happy if I never see another bloody roo ever again...
I take the country back roads to work everyday.
I'm forever keeping an eye out for the bastard! I swear they do it on purpose!

I hadn't any experience with cattle as a kid. When I was in the Navy, some of my buddies and I went to a remote site to hike the mountains. One guy grew up around cattle, and warned me that the cows wandering around would amble right in front of me when I approached (as a herd instinct). Sure enough, when I got close, the damned pot roast shambled right in front of the car. Do 'roos have a herd instinct, or are they like squirrels and rabbits, that wait until you are so close that you can't dodge 'em before they enter the roadway, to their certain demise?
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

They do live in small herds ...But there's an unwritten law amongst kangaroos.
If you want to cross the road, you're on your own sucker!

Yeah, I went to my city's big one last night. It was quite impressive. There was also an afterparty where little kids got photos with their favorites. I snapped a photo of that night's Clara, but failed to save it.
