People make assessments and judgments of others' positions here ALL OF THE TIME. You made one of me, as a matter of fact, when you deemed me a radicalized fringe feminist in a personal attack, and offered no rationale for it.

I gave you the courtesy of providing clear reasons as to why I consider you a sympathizer. Your unwavering and hostile assessment of feminism in the MRM thread and past threads, your post history of vehemently bashing "PC" culture, prior claims asserting that white men are are "under attack", and your position that people should be allowed to openly discriminate against others in hiring practices, etc. if they wish to do so, is how I came to that conclusion.

They were ad hominem attacks of the lowest caliber, Hammy. Regardless of how passionate any one member was, how does that advance the discussion?

It doesn't need to advance discussion because it's totally irrelevant. The point is censoring Ad Homs that aren't even against the rules is going to shut down discussion a lot more than the Ad Homs are.

Pointless censorship and fake-ass safe spaces are absolutely dire and stop discussion altogether. A discussion temporarily going in the wrong direction when it's goddamn TO BE EXPECTED in an emotionally charged topic is NOT as bad as bringing the discussion to a complete halt because people said some naughty things without even breaking the No Flaming rule. That's the point.

If it's not even flaming and yet Staff are still taking action in a way that  excludes the very people who were most invested in the topic because they went a little overboard because they're human, then the Staff are pressing buttons when they don't need to.

AF has been a fantastic place from 2008-2017 and not banning threads has been a huge part of its greatness. If that's going to change then it's certainly not going to be change for the better.

So, yeah, just leave everyone in the thread who make glib quips and then disappear and ban anyone who cares enough about the topic to overreact about it emotionally in between their actually discussing it properly unlike the people who are going to be left in the thread. Thread Closed pending staff decision. I have warned and it was ignored. If a civil discussion on these matters can't be achieved, then there is no point in keeping it. Yes, that is what we are. kindergarden keepers. As long people keep acting like, they will be treated as children.

I will not stand to see a decent discussion being destructed by personal quarrels.

Casually wondering why I'm up for banning, seeing as though I complied with the above Moderator warning fully, and have had absolutely ZERO interaction with the other implied parties since it was placed 5 days ago. Additionally, ALL of my replies from that point on were 100% insult AND profanity free, and strictly limited to the thread topic.

What purpose does the Warning serve if Staff can't even be bothered to see if members are actually displaying "undesirable behaviors" before putting them up for a ban? Seems very haphazard and reckless, to me.

Just wanted to have that on record in the event that I get banned for observing a warning.

That is up for staff discussion. Like I said in the speedbump, any more bullshit would end up in the thread closed and unsavory measures. If it were for me its permaban to all of you, as it seems you are unable to keep the discussion civil.

But then like I said before, we are discussing it. Perhaps my speedbump wasn't noticed by anyone involved.

He’s not just doing what he wants. I’m fairly certain he isn’t arguing for you to even be warned. It’s these comments that insinuate that he does whatever he wants and I get away with everything without any evidence to back them up that are ultimately the reason between the animosity between myself, you and Thump. It’s wrong and should stop.

I noticed the speed bump. I stopped heeding it when Thump went low again.

Hammy, it was flaming. We were definitely flaming. I even said one of my posts was deliberately to get a rise. It worked and then the same thing came back at me. Thena was flaming too, but she stopped. Tiz wasn’t flaming, but he definitely fueled it. Shit happens. Ban or not, I don’t care. Permabans would very much be outside of the norm, though.
