Hehe....very good question, I still don't know the answer !!
I usually thank the same rep for rep unless I'm still not ready to give a rep point, then I'm waiting maybe someone will stand out or i just like him/her enough to give them a rep...
but usually i like everybody ...so
(but this is only my private point of view...hehe)

I'm still figuring out the relative value of kudos and reps. Clearly kudos are more immediate and they seem to expire (?). Reps seem to be permanent and are given for more detailed, valuable posts. Yes?

Kudos is just like a thumbs up for a well-made point or a funny joke, etc. Rep points are more like how people think of you in general, not necessarily really related to a specific post - like if someone is consistently calm and nice even in arguments or just generally a good dude. It's all fake internet points, but they are different types of fake things.

So far, so good. Except for an initial concern (which I understand) that I am a sock puppet, the welcome has been warm.

A-nyway, we have a few math-y people. I have a love hatred relationship with that harsh mistress. I Like the Analysis approach.
Most of my research has related to various aspects of harmonic or functional analysis.

Come on guys, it took until page 6 for someone to reply properly? When he set us up so perfectly? I'm ashamed in you all.
Welcome to the forum polymath! I love math, haven't studied beyond intro calculus so far though. What's your view on using approximations in calculations (ex. pi = 3)?

Far too many clever atheists here.
Might be time for a cull.
Welcome, btw.
