Billionaire CEOs DO NOT NEED TAX BREAKS.
You are not getting it on f-ing bit!
This bullshit has been going on since Reagan. You CANNOT keep exploding the pay gap between the top and bottom.
What needs to happen isn't only wages going up, but at the same time cost of living being manageable. AGAIN Walmart pulled a fucking stunt, nothing more. Wages going up mean fucking nothing if we end up with all part time jobs and inflation that out paces that increase.
Corporate America has been pulling this shit for decades. And when the sane point this out gullible people like you fall for it. Then when it ends up in a bubble, you forget what they did to you.

If it were under the same circumstances as this policy shift .Fuck no i would not . But i'm certain If Hilary had or heaven forbid Obama had . You would be trying to down play it as much as possible . So quite projecting your political agenda's on to other people Beta were all as agenda driven as you .

Early reports that Capital One is raising minimum to $15. I'll post a thread if/when a major site reports it.

I think there's a strong possibility that Walmart said it's the tax cuts because they like tax cuts and would like more in the future.

Now that's bang on . Of course there going to try and make it look like they did this because of tax cuts . Because they want tax cuts that benefit them. Even if it fucks over everyone else .

Sam's Club (owned by Walmart) announced yesterday they're closing 63 stores including one in my town. Also announced yesterday that at least one Walmart in my town is closing.
Also, $11/hour is $22,880 a year, assuming 40 hours per week of work - hardly enough to support oneself, much less a family, and contribute to the economy.

Don't pretend you aren't aware of the difference. An increased minimum wage affects all employees. A company doing it only affects their employees.
Also there's no reason to make this partisan, if a Republican government raised the minimum wage most people would hail that as a great achievement too. Politics isn't a game.
You cannot ignore the fact that Walmart are letting thousands of employees go at the same time they are increasing their wages. That's what makes this "worthless".

WE DON'T CARE,
You like climate change deniers get stuck on the moment, shiny object, when we are talking about THE ENTIRE economy long term.
WE DON'T CARE....
You keep ignoring the long term tactic corporate America has conned you into buying.
This is a bait and switch con. They still bleed off jobs, and raise prices which negates any wage increase LONG TERM.
You think $11 or even $15 are livable wages with, rent, utilities, mortgages in especially big cities like SF or NYC, you are an idiot.
This bullshit you are falling for is BAIT, long term it is harmful, it only benefits the CEOs and shareholders. It does nothing for long term economic stability.

No shit, and most of the wages increases will get negated by more part time labor. The suckers on the right only hear "increase", and that is their shiny object. They might as well truly believe the lady really is being sawed in half by the magician.

Agreed this is a short term fad .Hyper focusing one up (possible up) when a overarching problem remain is pissing in the wind . Till there is a universal system that ensure ALL workers have a living wage this is a drop in a puddle. And even that drop has fuck all to do with the tax plan even if walmarts sell it as if it was so they can get more tax breaks later.
