Hello all.  I am a new member on this site.  I may not have a big following on an atheist site as I am a Christian believer.  I come here mainly to discuss Intelligent Design in the universe and in living systems.  I look forward to seeing you all in the forum.

Fair warning, this website does allow theists here, but at the same time, don't expect Mr Rogers from every individual here. We are just that, individuals. 

"Atheist" merely means "off" on the claim, that of God/god/s/deities. Outside that we vary on everything, such as class, education level, nationality, political/economic views.

Point is, if you don't know what an individual atheist thinks, ask, don't assume.

And your claims will get beat up here. But understand the difference between blasphemy, and human rights. Understand the difference between the right to make a claim, and the ability to demonstrate the credibility of the claim.

If you do that, you may not like every individual here, but you will understand even with those you may not like, that even then, none of us will barbecue your kittens, or eat your babies.

It can be a shark tank at times, but instead of considering yourself bait, consider it a challenge to your logic.

This place seems great for what I am looking for which is simply to discuss ID mainly and I may visit the Religion part of the forum as well. I started a thread in the General Science forum to discuss DNA information which is along the lines of topics I like to discuss. I may broaden my discussions here after a while.

But not as much as a shark tank as TTA where the OP has just come from. I get the feeling that here on AF there is some idealistic notion of a place for theists and atheists to have some form of conversation, whereas on TTA theists are referred to as chew toys. TTA is more a place for youngling atheists to play with their food in a safe environment. But even some atheists can come a cropper there though.

Not sure you will notice much difference though but don't take it personally. The fun of the place is to thrash out ideas.
