No it's the atheists telling everyone else to shut up... coz they're right :S
Of course atheism is negative... didn't you see the name folks? a-theism. It's an anti stance to theism. That's why it's viewed that way. If your stance was something positive: like materialism, existentialism, humanism... etc etc... joe public would think more favourably of you.

Athiest - Non Believer, which means God, the Devil, Heaven, Hell, etc.

Very nice dear but I was speaking sarcastically from the perspective of a theist... and yes from a theistic POV we (atheists) appear to be "Of the Devil" This issue was directed at the local Medicine woman centuries ago and is still happening today.
